The System Isn't Broken

That black kid from

The inner city

Was never meant to

Get out

That poor white kid

No matter his grades

Was never meant to

Go to college

That Spanish kid

Was trapped from day one

Living with parents

Labelled illegal

That young, bright girl

No matter how hard she works

Will never be paid

As an equal

Politicians know

That Native American child

Has poison in his water

But the system was never

Meant to help the oppressed

We were always meant to

Live with less
