Pain is my only friend

She's there when no one else is

She's holding me in her arms

Stealing my breath and clutching my heart

She lays with me in the bed

And whispers to me as I sleep

She drags me down

To her dark world

Because she doesn't want to be alone

I can't escape

She runs her fingers through my hair

And holds me close

She lacks a human warmth

Her touch sends shivers of cold down my spine

Her arms are tight around my chest

She doesn't want to let go of me

But I want her to hold me forever

A cold, dead embrace

Between life and death

Happiness and sadness

For one cannot exist without the other
