A chain made of your past,

each mistake a link, holds you fast

It's hard to breath--a frown

punishment weighing you down,

ripping, clawing, it will never let you go,

with each passing year it gets so

much heavier--the burden unbearable,

yet, onward you struggle--as the fable

you've created tears at, first

your conscious, then the worst,

your sub conscience, haunting you,

taunting you--"How could you, my friend?

I'll get you, and drag you down in the end.'

This chain colors everything you do and say,

whether you realize it or not, will never go away
