I suddenly thought about a parent's experience of their child's growth, so, here's my poem about it. Enjoy!

I see you walk

Down the golden path

To the new life you will live -

A life of friends, work, and pain,

And love that you will give.

You no longer want

To be pushed on a swing

For you worry of work instead.

Because you always

Stay out with friends,

There's not time to put you to bed.

It seems that only a moment ago,

I held you in my arms

And wrapped you in your blanket

To keep you safe and warm.

What happened to those golden times?

They seem to have melted like snow.

I watched you play without a care,

Now off to life you go.
