I had a hard time sleeping that night worrying about things like what happens if the plan doesn’t work out or we can’t even think of an escape plan. I walked back and forth in my room thinking all the bad thing that could go wrong.

“I need to stop worrying,” I said to myself.

Maybe a good breakfast will cheer me up. I’m a little famished, so went to the shower room, washed, put on my Judas uniform, and my shoes and walked out of my room.

“Good morning Noah.” The masked man said standing beside the door as if he was waiting for me.

“Good morning,” I said back.

“Can I ask you a question?” The masked man asked.

“Sure anything,” I replied.

“Your new friends didn’t call you a nickname did they?” The masked man asked.

“They do call me the new kid,” I said even though that was clearly a lie.

“No nicknames about your past?” The masked man asked getting closer.

“No, sir,” I said.

“Ok, and if they talk about you or their past you tell me ok?” The masked man said in my ear.

“Ok,” I said.

“Good. Well, have a nice day Noah.” The masked man said it like nothing happen and walked away.

“Weird,” I whisper to myself.

Anyway, I went to the cafeteria and while I was waiting in line I saw something through the window to the play yard. This big dude was kicking on of the smaller inmates in a corner. Man, that kid was bloody and I couldn’t do anything about. So, when it was my turn I got bacon, eggs, two pancakes, and a coffee with cream and sugar. Then, I went to the table they said we’ll meet yesterday.

“Morning Glass Shard,” Sarah said.

“Morning Crazy,” Ben said.

And I think Sam said morning, but it was a whispering mumble.

“Guys something weird happens,” I said.

“Really what?” Sarah said

One of the masked men was outside my door when I walked out and asked if you guys were talking about me or your guys’ past.” I said.

“What did you say you didn’t rat us out did you?” Ben said.

“What no, I said I didn’t know anything,” I said.

“You think they're already on us?” Ben said.

“Impossible,” Sarah said.

“Oh, yeah and I saw this big dude in the play yard beating up an inmate. Know anything about him?” I asked.

“Oh that asshole, he name is Bruce a.k.a the Strangler because of his big ass hands and he thinks he the king of the play yard. Just whatever you do don’t cross paths with him ok?” Sarah said.

“Ok,” I replied

“Ok. so are we going to of a plan or are we just gonna sit here?” Ben said.

“Oh yeah, so you guys said the employees only room is the only way out right?” I said.

“Yeah, but it's going to be impossible getting inside,” Ben said.

“Maybe we can distract them like one of us causes a scene,” I said.

“Ok, even if that did work none of us know what it like in there,” Ben said.

“Maybe an ambush?” I asked

“Nope because to some crazies this is the only home they got,” Ben said.

“Ok, so distraction is the best starter,” I said.

“Yep, pretty much it’s better than nothing,” Sarah said.

“Ok so who going to sneak in and get a quick peek?” Ben said.

“I will because I didn’t do anything wrong and they will probably not do anything because I’m new,” I said.

“You are truly crazy Glass Shard,” Sarah said.

“Ok let slit up and explore this place more and come back to share what more we know. Deal?” I said.

“Deal.” Sarah and Ben said together.

“Ok, now let us put our hands together like the movies,” I said.

“What no I’m not doing that,” Ben said.

“Just do it.” Sarah demand.

“Ok fine,” Ben replied.

So, we all place our hands together like we knew each other for years. And I felt joy and hope from that.

“So, what are going to say?” Ben said.

“Um, let me think,” I said.

“How about insanity crew?” Sam whisper.

“Ok on the court of three we’ll say insanity crew,” I said.

“I like the ring to it,” Sarah said.

“Ok on the court of three. 1, 2, 3.” I said.

“Insanity Crew!” We all said a little too loud.

Now everyone was staring at us, but we didn’t care because we were all too busy laughing now.

“Ok ok let go slit up and find some clues,” I said.

“Ok.” everyone else said.

We all went to our separate ways and we search and search. And the sun was already going down when we went back to our after of course, we got our dinner.

“Found anything useful?” I asked.

“Nope,” Ben said first.

“Sarah, did you find anything?” I said.

“No.” She said.

“Sam?” I said.

Sam just nodded his head side to side indicating he didn’t find anything useful.

“Shit, this harder than I thought,” Ben said.

“Well, did you found anything Glass Shard?” Sarah said.

“All I know is that they really don’t want us through that door,” I said.

“Can I guys tell you a secret?” Ben said.

“Sure,” I said.

“You guys promise you wouldn’t tell?” Ben said.

“Yes, we’re your friends just spill the beans,” Sarah said.

“Ok jeez well the boxcutter I still have it,” Ben said.

“Really where?” I said.

“It's in my stomach,” Ben said.

“What?” I said.

“It can probably useful, but I can’t get it out without a doctor,” Ben said.

“What do you mean we have Stitches he can get it out and stitch you back together isn’t that right Stitches?” Sarah asked.

Sam nodded up and down indicating he can, but mumbled something about supplies.

“We can get them,” Sarah said, “Just tell us what you need.”

Sam mumble what we needed, but only Sarah could understand him.

“So, you need some string and a needle we can get the string easy, but I don’t know about the needle,” Sarah said.

“I got you,” I said while pulling a tiny, but sharp needle looking bone out my chicken.

“Great, but the only way to get string is in my room, so we’ll have to do it in the bathroom tomorrow,” Sarah said.

“Why do we have to wait until tomorrow for you to get the string?” I asked.

“It’s because we aren’t allowed back into our rooms until it bedtime or if we are sick, or you’re on Tier Three,” Sarah said.

“Oh,” I replied.

“I’m stuffed I just want to go to bed now,” Ben said.

“Shall we?” Sarah asked.

“Shall we what?” I asked.

“Go to bed it's almost bedtime,” Sarah said.

“Yeah, we have a long day tomorrow, so it's good to get a good good night sleep,” I said.

So, we all got up said our goodbyes and went to our rooms to have a good night sleep not know the horrors that await them the next day.
