Tranquil Wisdom
I smell the fresh breeze
& feel the tranquil wisdom
Of the leaves’ lack of heed
In spite of the kingdom
That on them sleeps
& on them relies
They have sageness so deep
& by them myself abides
They are quiet
They bear sacred virtues
That can defeat today’s riot
& that can possess peace that the world pursues
They bow in welcome
Of a tweeting visitor
They hold weights of fruit
The world’s cure lies in leaves so miniature
I can always hear their hymn of peace get sung
As I walk along…
