She Wanted Something Simple

She wanted something simple but him, he just said ‘No’,

not an inch of leeway was he about to show.

A partnership of equals, so far from that it is,

the only thing acceptable is the view, the one that’s his.

She does not even argue now,  for there really is no point,

the only thing she can achieve is just to disappoint;

it’s better to just let it go, let it drift away

and bury yet another dream on another day.

She keeps her thoughts inside her head, does not let them out,

for they would lead to ridicule, of that she has no doubt.

She’ll take depression’s hand and feel it’s desperate kiss,

for really there is nothing left of life for her to miss.
