Chapter 2

About five minutes later I was walking to my house from the bus stop. When I walked into my house I dropped my backpack and ran up to my secret spot. (MY BEDROOM CLOSET) In my secret spot I usually just sit in there on my phone, draw, or read. Besides me the only other people who have been in my secret spot is my parents and my brother Brent and they don’t even know that my closet is my secret spot. Incase you're wondering, I’ve only had 2 friends in my life and one of them was an imaginary friend. When I was in kindergarten I had a friend named Chasity Leonard. We hung out at recess, talked at lunch, and played everyday after school because we live two doors away from each other. After kindergarten we went to 1st grade. After we had been in 1st grade for about 3 months Chasity started an argument about who's more popular and pretty and after hearing her argue with me for about 3 weeks, I just couldn’t take it anymore. So I punched her and then called her a @#$%&! Then I got suspended for a week. When I came back after my first suspension, I saw that there was a note on my desk from Chasity. It read, “Dear Alicia, I’m sorry I started to kinda build a wall between our friendship. I just wanted to let you know that I will not be attending Westminster Prep anymore. By the time you read this I will already be at a new school all the way in Grants Pass, Oregon. My parents found new jobs and applied me to a school for the gifted. Hope to see you sometime soon! XO, Chasity.” By the time I finished reading that note I was very surprised that she’s now going to a gifted school because she gets Ds and Cs on tests. “ Welcome back nerd bird.” Said Mallory Smith.

“ Thanks, I-”

“ Please pause your sentence and go back to loserville.” She interrupted and walked away. Even though I had just gotten back from suspension, it couldn’t hurt me to have another one. So I caught up with Mallory and kicked her in the leg. “OOOOWWWW!!!!” She screamed. “ ALICIA VERBECK TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!” Miss Kenny shouted. I as I walked to the principal’s office I was feeling embarrassed. My stomach felt like it was going to fall out of my butt. Then I shed a tear. When I walked out of the principal’s office that was the last time I would ever walk out of Mrs. Glenn's office.“ EXPELLED!” My mother yelled, “ WHY ARE YOU SUCH A BAD KID?”

I had never seen my mom so mad at me and haven’t seen her that mad since. Later that night I got the news that we were moving. I was hoping to move to Grants Pass, but instead were moving to Elkhart, Indiana. A month later we moved. Luckily it was about a 6 hour and 20 minute drive since I lived in Altoona, Iowa. My other friend was imaginary and her name was Dawn. Of course she was only my friend when I was in preschool so she doesn’t have a last name. Dawn loved to draw so that was like the only thing we did together. When I started kindergarten, Dawn said that other kids need her around and that it was time that we both needed to move on. I agreed.
