Mabel Clanton is a religiously devout reader of her favorite tabloid newspaper the Back Door Peeper.  Mabel asked me the other day, concerning an article she was perusing in the celebrity section of that time-honored scandal sheet, why it is that Liv Tyler never became an A-list movie star.  This is the answer I supplied:

Because she doesn’t have the on-screen presence required by the Captains of Capitalism to profitably promote their products.

Hollywood is one of the biggest propaganda machines on Earth and the clandestine faction who secretly pulls the strings of that mass media mechanism has very strict guidelines for the celebrity endorsement images that they lasciviously flash around the globe with the explicit aim of financial profits via domination of the world market economy.

Liv simply doesn’t lure enough shoppers down the lucrative aisles of mass consumerism, therefore retailers don’t back her for A-list movie stardom.

Legions of psychologists, neurosurgeons, biochemists, market analysts, et cetera and so on are employed in the shadowy enclaves of concealed Think Tanks to make such critical economic decisions as who gets to be an A-list movie star. It’s serious tactical psychological warfare. The results they tabulate don’t place Liv in that fiscally remunerative category.

Mabel’s son, Tristan, an independent filmmaker who has decided to switch from romantic comedy to horror, inquired of me how he might give his first horror movie the look and feel of ‘80s gestalt.  Here is the answer I provided:

Homicidal maniac murder had its own signature in the ‘80s, so if you want your horror movie to feel like something from that era, employ ‘80s style murder.

Exempli gratia - in the year 1980 at Toledo Mercy Hospital, a Catholic chaplain was suspected of the brutal slaying of a 71-year-old nun who was found with multiple stab wounds in the shape of an inverted cross over her heart. A young woman referred to as “Survivor Doe” submitted testimony that, when she was a child, the suspected chaplain had abused her physically and psychologically in Satanic rituals involving other adults dressed as nuns.

In 1985 serial murderer Richard Ramirez, a/k/a the Night Stalker, killed and tortured many victims in home invasion Satanic ritual attacks.

February 8, 1980 Robin Murphy and other members of a Satanic cult speaking in an unknown language summoned the Devil while tearing their victim’s head from her body. They then wrote occult symbols on the disembodied head and decapitated corpse.

Thomas Kokoraleis, a member of a Satanic Cult known as the “Ripper Crew” was arrested in 1982 for the savage cold-blooded killing of 21-year-old Lorry Ann Borowski.

In 1984, Ricky Kasso, who had been a patient at Amityville Insane Asylum and who was a member of a Satanic Cult named “Knights of the Black Circle” took a victim into Aztakea Woods where they forced their helpless captive to say “I love Satan” then gouged out his eyes and stabbed him 17 times.

There’s a long list of Satanic ritual murder which took place in the ‘80s, so much so that the 1980s were dubbed the decade of the “Satanic Panic”. This is the modus operandi for your horror film if you want it to feel like something out of the ‘80s.

Remember to include in your screenplay terms such as SRA(Satanic Ritual Abuse) cincture, alb, stole, chasuble, sacristy, antependium, vestry, almoner, hermit, and FBI Behavioral Science Unit Quantico, Virginia - along with the obvious 666, Baphomet, Anton Szandor LaVey, Abaddon, Apollyon, Apocalypse, Armageddon, Jezreel, Valley of Megiddo, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Number of the Beast, and Lucifer.

And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.” 2 Kings 17:31, King James Bible.
