This story is about a reoccurring dream I have had since I was a young teenager. I wanted to share some of my dreams in story form. Primarily because horror is one of my favorite subjects. Also
because it helps me to be able to write them down and understand them better.

It starts out in a town similar to what Gatlinburg Tennessee was like in the early 90's. But with many more neon lights on and tons of shops I can never recognize. Me and a group of sub-consciously created friends walk around aimlessly and talk nonsense for a bit, but this is just the beginning of what becomes a very terrifying dream. It is night time every time. And eventually, we all decide that going into this haunted attraction sounds like fun. So of course, we go.
Once we arrive at what looks like an old run down factory building that just seems out of place, we are greeted by some folks in costume telling us that it is free if you survive. Yep, it's one of those. See in reality, we probably would've known better to even set foot in this place, considering there was no waiver to sign. Too late. We enter the first door after being told some simple haunted house rules. The door slowly closes shut and makes a heavy locking sound when it closes. Inside this room, it is freezing, it is just dark enough that you can barely make out shapes and silhouettes of things. We can hear screaming and chains clanking, and the creaking of the walls and floors as if it was just a regular old house. Far as I can tell, we are in a room that just has a couch to our right, an old fireplace to our left, and a slightly open door in front of us about thirteen feet away. An old kids horse rocker in the corner, and several other toys thrown about the edge of the room.
As we begin to slowly nudge each other forward, a light begins to flash from the crack of the door to the other room. Not quickly, but every six seconds or so, and it's bright enough that every time it flashes, an image of the room would be left in my eyes for a couple seconds. As I looked towards the couch, and the flash happened, I suddenly saw two people sitting on it. But when the flash happened again, nobody was there. The rocking horse began to rock, but hey, who didn't expect that, right? Again, while looking at it, as the flash of light happened, I saw another person appear standing behind the rocking horse, in the corner of the room. It stopped rocking, all noises stopped suddenly, just as I realized one of the people in the group had started to pull the door open. The door was so loud, it creaked open slowly and creepily. Crappy thing is, the flashing light was gone.
We all step into the next room, and it feels, very open. A lot less cramped compared to the previous room we were in. Suddenly, the flash happens again. We see through a window in the wall, into a room with a person holding a camera. It seemed as though he was taking pictures of people. He realized we were looking in, and yelled "Get moving meat sacks!", as he slid down a heavy curtain over the window. We turned around to see a red light, that seemed to be very far away. It was right above a door, on the other side of the room, that I thought looked a whole lot like a gymnasium. We decided to approach the light slowly. Hoping for it to be an easy task.
We never could've seen what happened next coming.
As we approached the light, voices were able to be heard, and they were coming from within the same room we were currently in. It sounded like a lot of people were around us. It kept getting louder and louder with every step. We made it all the way to the door, and right as I lifted my arm for the handle, lights came on. We were certainly in a gymnasium. It was very suddenly extremely bright and loud. I quickly noticed though, that my whole group was not with me anymore. I was standing alone at the door. Though when I turned around to look, there wasn't a door at all. Where I remember seeing the window, was gone. The door we had come through, was gone. There was now a door opposite to me, crowded by people that were wearing the same clothes. All of them were wearing white shirts and white pants.
I was petrified, I had no idea what to do. I looked down and realized that I too, was wearing the same clothes. As I looked up, a man wearing all black was approaching me. He was even wearing black panty hose over his face. I was still froze and had no idea how to react. He stopped in front of me, and without saying anything pointed towards the crowd of people. I stared at him for a moment and started making my way towards the crowd. At this point, I can't believe anymore that I am just in a haunted house. I didn't know what to think. Was I hallucinating?
As I approached the crowd, the man followed close behind me. I began to study the faces of the crowd, and realized quickly that the people from my group were also standing there. All of them seemed to be completely incoherent. Staring at the floor with a very sad looking expression on their faces. Everyone in the crowd was speaking but I could only make out a word here and there. They were saying things like, "He tried to save us.", "It was coming.", I wasn't alone.".
The man in black yelled something completely incomprehensible. The group then slowly shuffled towards a big black door. It had strange markings all around it that appeared to be drawn in blood. I was near the back of the crowd still, trying to figure things out. But nothing was making sense at all. As I walked through the door with this large group, we entered what was like a planetarium. It was rather dark but not too dark to see the entirety of the room. There were many rows of seats set across the entire room, with only two rows to walk through between them.
It seemed as though the rest of the group already knew what to do and where to go. Making their way to a seat and sitting down, still mumbling things and staring at the floor. I went to the far right side of the room, where I saw the fewest amount of people sitting. As I sat down someone yelled at me, "No no no! Get up! That's my friends chair!". A lanky tall fella came rushing towards me, I moved out of his way and he sat down in the chair next to the one I was about to sit in. He then began to seem to talk to someone that was sitting in that chair, but no one was sitting there. So I just chose a different seat. This time uninterrupted by any mad men.
As I scanned the room, I noticed there were more men in black. They were walking around the room and escorting people out of the room. I began to realize they seemed to be taking the most quiet, normal people that seemed scared to be there, out of the room. So I remained quiet. Hoping to be able to get out of this place. A hefty short guy began to approach me, wearing all the same white garb, holding his hands together in front of his belly and staring down at the ground. When he got right next to me, he looked at me with very sad looking eyes and said in a very soft voice that seemed to be concerned,"C-c-could I b-borrow your l-l-lighter please?".
I wasn't even aware I had a lighter on me, let alone any of the other contents I had come into this place with. I patted my pockets, turns out, all of my belongings were still in my pockets. Just becoming aware of this, I reached into my pocket and there it was. My lighter, my phone, some smokes, and my wallet. I pulled out my phone first, and it wouldn't turn on at all. So I reached back in my pocket and pulled out my lighter, and the man in front of me did not hesitate to ask me for it again. So I told him that if he showed me what he needed it for, then it was his.
The men in black were still escorting people out of the room, it was still filled with mumbles and whispers. The man wanting my lighter waved his hand at me to follow him. He locked them back together in front of him and slowly walked towards another door in the far right corner of the room that I somehow hadn't even noticed yet. It was green, and had more symbols and shapes drawn around it in what looked like blood yet again. He opened the door, and a gust of wind came through, it went straight out into very thick woods. I couldn't even tell if we were on a trail. The door seemed to close on it's own behind us. It was so dark, I couldn't tell there were any signs of light in the sky, considering we were just in a town with lots of lights. The sky was pitch black. No stars, no moon, nothing at all. Just endless, extremely clustered trees, and darkness.
We walked on what he treated as a path, but for me was a lot of stepping over large roots and rugged soil. It wasn't long though, before I saw a tiny glow getting closer by the step. We approached it slowly and quietly, until we arrived and he turned around and we were standing next to the light. It was coming from a brazier containing a medium sized red candle. As I studied the ground, I realized there were obsidian chunks laying about, but as I looked closer, they were set to be a pentagram. There was a dagger at the left corner, a small bowl of salt in the right corner, with the red candle being at the top point of the star.
The man then quietly asked again, "L-l-lighter please sir.". I grabbed the lighter out of my pocket and held it out towards him. He unlocked his fingers and slowly reached out to grab it, I noticed he was trembling. I asked him if he was ok and he did not respond in any way. He just took the lighter, knelt down and whispered something short, and held the lighter to one of the chunks of obsidian. He then lit the lighter and immediately the entire pentagram ignited into flames that got bigger every second. They grew to be enormous and we were both backing up from the flames. Somehow the fire was not igniting anything else, although it was reaching through branches and right next to plenty of dead looking trees. We then began to hear a chanting. It was coming from multiple people it seemed, of course I can't really recall exactly what was being said, but it was very loud, and discomforting.
As I turned to look at the man that brought me here, he was standing up right, with his arms held out to the fire. A few moments later he began yelling the same chant with the voices, with no hint of a stutter, or soft voice he once was using. In fact his voice had become very powerful all of a sudden. I looked back at the fire, and what looked like people started to form from the center of what was now shaped like a large pyre. Four nude people began to emerge from the fire. They were floating, and facing towards the center of the fire. With their arms extended straight out and they were staring up into the sky. Their bodies had cuts and blood all over them.
I felt a very strange presence. It was overwhelming. I panicked and got up then started to run through the ragged thick woods. The chanting was so loud and unbearable. The fire grew so large it seemed as though it was still just right behind me. I caught a glance of a solid wall through the trees. I figured it had to have been the building we came from. As I ran as fast as I could, a very sudden explosion happened behind me. Lots of dirt, leaves, and sticks were flying through the woods. I looked back to see that the fire had turned into a large ball of fire that was spinning. The people were now rotating around the fire and the man that brought me here had also began to float with them.
I turned back around to realize I was nearing the building. I spotted a door and began to run straight for it. It was so loud, there were still things being thrown through the air. The chanting was still going, more aggressively and faster than before. As I approached the door, it was as if time began to slow down. I could still think normally. And comprehend things at a normal rate. My movement, however, and all the things around me, we're certainly moving much, much slower. The door was just in front of me, another door with glyphs drawn all around it. This one was yellow. It seemed like minutes had gone by in the time it took me to reach for that door handle and turn it. Soon as I did though, I came crashing through the door at normal speed.
I landed hard on the ground. On my hands and knees, I looked around to see where I had ended up. It looked like a normal modern home. Well taken care of and obviously lived in, but it seemed to be missing two things. Windows, and doors to the outside. I got up and looked at myself, I was back in my own clothes. Confused, and exhausted, I began to look around the room more closely. I heard a few coughs come from down the hallway. There were three doors far as I could tell. I approached the hallway slowly, being cautious with every step. The door at the end of the hall was wide open. The door on the left was closed completely, and the door on the right was left slightly open.
I heard the coughing again, this time I was able to tell it had come from a female. Still unable to tell which room it had come from, I decided to just go to the one with the door open. Just as I got about a foot away from the room at the end of the hall. Every light went out simultaneously. I pulled out my phone quickly, and still it did not turn on. So I reached for my lighter, and quickly remembered it had basically exploded earlier. I had no light source at the moment. I didn't know what to do, I wasn't familiar enough with this house to just keep going in pitch black darkness. So I waited, until I heard the cough again. It seemed to come from about four feet back and to what was now my left side.
I placed my hand on the wall and began to walk back down the hallway. I didn't get far though before I heard a strange blowing sound and I was jerked into the room at the end of the hallway. Right as it happened the lights flickered a few times, revealing to me that I was being pulled by a shadow like creature hanging from the ceiling. It was shaped like a hand. I started flailing my legs and arms to try and get out but it wasn't working at all. It seemed completely impossible to even get this force to budge with my physical being. It slammed me down on the ground once and then dropped me from the ceiling of the room. There was nothing in this room, it was just very rugged, and gross looking compared to what I had seen in the rest of this house.
The door had been closed, this one as well had markings all around it. These markings though, had been carved into the wall. I got up and reached for the door handle, but it turned and opened on its own just before I could grab it. The door slowly swung open to reveal that the rest of the house, had somehow suddenly taken on the same appearance as this room. The wallpaper was hanging off the walls. Lights were flickering rapidly and some more slowly. There were what looked like fingernail scratches all along the floor and lower parts of the walls. Then the door that was just cracked earlier began to slowly open.
I watched the doorway just waiting for someone to come out of the room, but nobody came out. So I decided to make my way down the hall. I heard the coughing again, this time though, it was much more hoarse. It sounded sickly. I slowly approached the doorway, and leaned forward to look in. It was very dark. I slowly made my first step into the room, then a light flickered and popped really loud. I caught a glance of what looked like a very sick woman laying in the bed. The light then began to come on, slowly increasing in brightness. The woman in the bed was staring right at me. Her flesh was ragged and torn. She began to slowly raise her left arm. Her fingers slowly formed a pointing position towards the corner of the room. As I turned my head the light popped really loud again, and the light was gone. I stayed very still in the pitch black room.
I felt hands grab my wrists suddenly. They were freezing and felt very dry. They were gripping me so tightly that it hurt. Then this low growl sound started coming from whatever was in front of me. It slowly turned into a louder growl and then into a loud shriek. Then the light flashed very quickly and sparks started flying around the room. There was a very terrifying creature standing in front of me. It had two large spiny arm-like things coming from it's back. It was extremely bony and had double jointed legs with claws at the end of them. It's face was long and alien looking. It had very many sharp long teeth that were stained and broken in some places. It's tongue was hanging out as it was screaming. The creature then stopped screaming, and I felt a strange sensation begin to pour over my entire body. I looked up and realized it had stabbed me with the two things from it's back, in my back. I then no longer saw what was happening through my own eyes. Instead it was like I was watching from a camera  in the corner of the room. I then watched as the room flickered, and I was slowly eaten from head to toe, paralyzed and unable to do anything other than watch it happen.
The creature then slowly turns and stares at the person laying in the bed, and walks out of the room. And the lights slowly fade away...
