Just another poem

I had a heart once

Its true, it was between my lungs

But I suppose, I am just too young

And just have too sharp of a tounge

To understand what a heart is.

You see all I wanted was to have some fun

And if things went south, I could always run

Run, run, run, away from everyone

and then all of my problems would be done.

But I never worked in the hurt

that was as real as the dirt

found under my fingernails that I couldn't avert

no matter how hard I tried.

I never truly knew what it meant

when a zigzag line would accent

the outline of my heart.

I think I'm broke, but I'm not so sure

that anyone will ever find the cure.
