I lay in bed and close my eyes,

Waiting for the darkness to fall apon me,

But the darkness that I crave stays far away,

So I wait. But nothing ever comes.

I grab a trusty book,

It’s clean covers shining, for a lack of use is not true.

The pages lay crumpled, and covered in tears,

And I read on, as the dark fails to come near.
