Don’t belittle her because she is unemployed

Don’t belittle her because she is a street vendor

Don’t belittle her because she doesn’t have fancy clothes to wear

Don’t belittle her because she is a single mother

Don’t judge her because she is a party animal

Don’t judge her because she uses drugs

Don’t judge her because she abuses alcohol

Don’t judge her because she has no tertiary qualification

Don’t judge her because she is a prostitute

Don’t judge her because she is a victim of teenage pregnancy

Don’t judge her because she is a victim of rape

Don’t belittle her or judge her

Because you don’t know her story

As women we go through so much each and every single day. For some reason we “seem” to have gotten used to all this pain because we have been exposed to it so much. Yes, we may have the XX genetic chromosome but that does not mean that we should carry all the pain that we are exposed to.

It has become hard for us women to voice our concerns to each other because of the obvious fear of our pain becoming a joke to others. There is never really a time when a friend can come to you and ask what’s bothering you out of concern and sincerity.

As women, we are supposed to be nurturers, not gossips who rejoice over another woman’s pain. We need to put an end to this dislike that we have for one another and support each other.
