Hello?

Hello?

Is anyone there?

I’m alone.

I’m scared

I can’t find my mommy.

I can’t find my daddy.

Where is everybody?

I remember what happened.

Daddy said he would be back soon, so me and mommy went into the store.  I was holding mommy’s hand as she made her way to the back of the store.  I wanted to ride in the buggy, but she said she only had to grab a few things and then we’d meet daddy.

As we went through the store we saw sooo many things, but one thing made me stop and look.  My eyes went wide and my mouth dropped.  It was as bid as a house, looking at me.  I couldn’t look away.  I just had to touch it.  I touched it and it felt smooth.  I thought it would move but it didn’t.  It looked strong and powerful.  I wondered what it was, then it began to scare me so I backed away.  That’s when I realized mommy had gone.

All around me strange people were looking at me.  Tears filled my eyes and I ran further and further away from them.  I hid under some clothes that were hanging nearby.  I curled up into a ball and I didn’t know what to do. I heard loud voices, one said Amber something and I curled up tighter under the clothes.  I could hear my name, but it wasn’t my mommy’s voice.

I felt the clothes move and I ran.  I ran to where I last saw daddy.  That’s when I saw her.  My mommy.  She was crying just like me.  She opened her arms and I ran to her.  From that day on I made up my mind that mommy’s hand is the best hand ever.
