snowflakes coming down

the first cold day as

I shiver

the squirrels are fat

going out for a bite

the kitchen mouse

seeking crumbs

hiding near the stove

somewhere in the warmer

climates

elephants cry for peanuts

I don't want to set any

mousetraps

the cute tail

would become eternal

I don't want to see him

sleeping

I love his little soul

now my mother

is going to a nursing home

and coming home soon (here)

I have not seen her for

some time

we had pizza for breakfast

hiding the cardboard box

in the back seat

life has problems

they are too complex

nobody can solve them

all

a December day 2017

working in the mall

past middle age

just a paycheck

going paycheck-to-paycheck

I think of Johnny Paycheck

now the sparrows are sweet

very timid

one loves his brother

they love each other

flying and living in

the mall food court

beautiful life can be

love the animals

love God

love your soul

that is refreshed

now the bird

got on his knees

and prayed

then the mouse

sung a duet

with the sparrow...

Gospel Hymn

is what they called it

and the mouse

squeaked
