Then and Now
I used to try so hard.
I used to try to fit in so much that at the end of the day I was exhausted from just being me.
I cared to much about fitting in with the people I put around me.
I had to keep up with their music, their social media, their trends.
It was so tiring.
But here I am now.
I’m closer to being me.
I’m not exhausted from emotional and mental effort.
I don’t try to know about the latest meme, or trend.
Because the real me doesn’t care about that type of thing.
The real me cares about the latest great song I found deep in the universe of YouTube.
The real me listens to all music, not just the newest rap song.
I now have friends that I don’t have to keep up with because we all are different and love that.
That was me then, and this is me now.
