FADE IN: INT. RISING STAR TRAINING RING - DAY ZACKIRIA NIETCHI, stands, arms behind his back, starting at the line up of THIRTEEN trainees. The set in the middle look back and forth between the people to each end of the line. At the right end of the line, TETSU, 30’s, Asian, shakes his arms loose and tilts his head side to side. At the other end is JESSICA LUV, 30’s, short hair, stands a little more lax then the others until she catches an unapproving eye from Zackiria. ZACKIRIA Let us welcome our new recruits, Tetsu and Jessica. As long as you are here you will treat me and this place with respect. You do this and you work hard, you will receive respect. He moves his hands in front, clasps them together and bows, the trainees do the same. ZACKIRIA (cont’d) You two will come with me to get your clothes and I’ll take you to your room. Jessica quickly goes to Zackiria before he walks away. JESSICA Sir? He turns with a look that says "you may speak". JESSICA (cont’d) Would my brother be able to join as well? He’s (beat) in need of some structure. He’s a drug addict, he needs... ZACKIRIA Stop right there. This is no rehab clinic or summer spot to hang out. This is a serious training facility. 2. Zackiria walks away with Tetsu following behind. Tetsu glances at Jessica looking sad for her. INT. DORM ROOM - DAY In the somewhat brighter room with minor frilly decor, DONNA MAX, 30’s, long hair with PINK highlights, gets dressed in the TRAINING GEAR. There is a KNOCK on the door. Donna gets the top over her head. DONNA Come in. Jessica enters and puts her clothes on the free bed. DONNA (cont’d) I’m Donna, looks like we’ll be roommates. Get yourself ready for a workout, girl. Jessica sighs and starts to get changed. EXT. STREET OUTSIDE RISING STAR - DAY The trainees are split into two groups, both of which pulling on a rope, a car pulling the other end. Their feet drag along the ground as they try to pull back, after a while, they actually seem to match the power output, neither people or car going anywhere, smoke coming from the tires as it REVES. INT. ZACKIRIA’S OFFICE - DAY Zackiria sits at the desk where he can see the main training square and everyone sparing. He is reading a NOVEL when there is a KNOCK at the door. He looks up to see CHIEF JOSEPH ALEXANDER, 40’s, who gives a lighthearted smile. Zackiria stands and comes to great him. ZACKIRIA Joseph. To what do I owe this pleasure? 3. JOSEPH An old friend wanted to say hello. Suddenly RYAN DAVIS, 40’s, nearly clean shaved head, is by the door as well. ZACKIRIA Ryan. Good to see you. RYAN Sir. Zackiria looks past the two men to another. NICK TARDO,40’s, long messy hair, five-o-clock shadow, stands with his arms crossed, the expression on his face shows he’d rather be anywhere else. ZACKIRIA Nick Tardo. Now I know this isn’t just to say hi. Nick turns and watches the students with very little interest as Zackiria turns back to Joseph and Ryan. JOSEPH Ok, fine. Since your last graduates turned out so well, I came to see your new recruits. These two came along of thier own accord. Behind Zackiria, Nick tries not to look in Zackiria’s direction. NICK Yes. So many fond memories here. Zackiria pays his asstrainged student no mind. ZACKIRIA Well, I’m not sure how many of them are looking to join the force but thier training isn’t near competition anyway. Honestly, neither were my do called graduates but they refused the advanced training. Nicks face seems to show suprise and concern. NICK I see the Marcus brothers are still here. Jacob as well. Incredible that they put up with your... 4. RYAN We really should be going now, nice to see you again Zack. The three officers leave as the group finishes thier little practice. Zackiria looks at the group and smirks a bit. MOMENT’S LATER, AFTER EVERYONE DOES A SET OF PUSH-UPS A younger student is breathing heavily and struggling to push-up. Zackiria goes beside him and leans him over. ZACKIRIA What’s the matter? You already did fourty five, why did you stop? The young guy turns his face to get his nose off the ground. YOUNG TRAINEE Pain. ZACKIRIA You’re young, you’re supposed to have more energy than this. Pain means it’s working, you’re becoming a man, embrace it. Push through the pain. Five more, that’s all I’m asking for! The student grunts as he pushes himself up and does five more as asked, then let’s himself flop. Zackiria helps him to his feet and brings him over to a BENCH. ZACKIRIA (cont’d) Rest up now, you earned it. But I expect you to beat that record some time soon. Gabriel swings his arms to stretch them out, he nods to the young student, Kevin crouches before him and puts his hand on his shoulder. No one can hear what is being said but the youngster nods occasionally and smiles. 5. INT. The men scoff and snicker a bit, Chief Alexander walks in at that moment and they all quite done and start to rush more. JOSEPH Maybe you guys didn’t hear but there’s a sniper who just killed one of our fair citizens. I have two men already there and everyone else seems to be lolly gagging around like this is no big deal. The mayor is going to be on my ass in ten seconds so I want to be able to tell him we’re taking this seriously. Get out there and lock the scene down. Everyone rushes out, Jack grabs his jacket but Joseph holds him up. JOSEPH (cont’d) I’m worried these boys don’t respect your athority as much as they should. I know I wasn’t hear and you had to give the order but you got to be more forceful and stop talking crap about hope and faith. That doesn’t work in this business. JACK There is always room for faith sir. But I guess it is a bit nieve of me to want to believe this won’t happen again. Joseph leads Jack out, leaving the station nearly empty, only desk staff left answering phones. EXT. BOBBY Tell me you have the scene locked down. Alexander sits as well, trying to suppress his frustration. JOSEPH The airport and bus station is on high alert. I have a duzzen men searching for the sniper nest and the rest searching hotels. BOBBY Good, cause all the newly paved roads and culture festivals and cancer runs in the world couldn’t cover up the kind of bad press this can cause. Joseph stands and eyes the assistant, he opens the door for him to leave. 8. EXT. STREET CORNER, IN FRONT OF A BANK - DAY A VAN’S doors open and we see FOUR MEN, 30’s, dressed in four seperate colored suits with black SKI MASKS on thier skulls. One of them has to remove his GLASSES to pull his mask on. They step out of the van, each heavily armed with a RIFFLE and a SUITCASE and move to the bank. INT. BANK - DAY The four men enter the bank, one of them immediately knockes out the guard with a PISTOL WHIP WHACK. The THREE TELLERS look up in shock, SEVEN COSTUMERS SCREAM. LEAD BANK ROBBER Everyone remain quiet with your hands up where we can see them. You cooperate and we’re out of your way nice and quick. Oddjob, you watch the door. The one in the NAVY BLUE SUIT stands near the door and locks it CLICK to prevent new costumers from entering. The lead bank robber, in the grey suit, walks to the closest teller and places the suitcase in front of her and opens it. LEAD BANK ROBBER Give me what you got sugar, I don’t have all day. The one in the TAN SUIT goes to the next teller, opening his case for her, as does the one in the BLACK SUIT. He keeps an eye on the costumers as he backs up to her. The teller that received the case from tan suit shakes her head. TAN SUIT Dr. No, we got someone holding out on us here. Black suit turns to her looking twitchy. He takes a few steps closer. DR. NO Is that right Goldfinger? Well, that is very unwise of her isn’t it? 9. He points the gun at her. DR. NO (cont’d) Look doll, this place ain’t paying you enough to play hero. She starts to fill the bag in a panic. Dr. No quickly turns back to his own teller who puts the last few bills in the bag and steps back. Dr. No retrieves the suitcase. DR. NO (cont’d) Smart. Oddjob looks at his WATCH and unlocks the door CLICK. ODDJOB We need to get a move on. Goldfinger and Dr. No take their cases and head out the door with Oddjob right behind them. ZACKIRIA This sniper business is giving you a lot of aggrivation. 10. JOSEPH More than I need. What I need is my own sniper who track this guy. Zackiria nods and puts his hand to his chin. ZACKIRIA I don’t have the exact same training but I could teach some of the skills to my students. As well as some of your officers. Joseph loosens up. JOSEPH That would be great, though not entirely helpful to this current situation. ZACKIRIA I don’t know, I think this situation is a great learning example. Either way, they’ll definitely be more able to deal with any future attacks. Joseph leans back, he turns his chair to the window. He clasps his hands in front of his face, leaning forward. JOSEPH Ok, I’ll send some of your old students as well as some other men. He turns back. JOSEPH (cont’d) I expect to see results. Zackiria shakes his hand and stands, he straightens his shirt and leaves. Joseph stands as well and stretches, a KNOCK on the door disrupts him and Jack enters. JACK What was he doing here? Joseph takes a STRESS BALL from his desk and squeezes it. JOSEPH He’s taking a few men and going to train them to track a sniper. 11. JACK Are you mad? You can’t find an actual professional to do the job? JOSEPH You may not like the desition but it’s final. Joseph gives the ball a few more squeezes and sends Jack out dispight his continued protest. He comes out with a METAL BOX, the man opens it and smiles, he takes it and continues on. GANGSTER 1 Everyone is falling in line as planned sir. A POLICE CAR pulls up with a WHAIL OF THE SIREN. MR. GRADO Then why are the police here? The gangster with the box gulps. Three more back him up, pulling their jackets back, revealing pistols. GANGSTER 2 They’d best not start anything. Their grossly outnumbered. More of the men take out SMALL SEMI-AUTO GUNS while a second POLICE CAR shows. MR. GRADO Let’s let them know of their mistake. 12. The car doors open as the gangsters open fire RATTITAT, the officers dive for cover as their cars are filled with holes CLINKINTY CLINK. One of the officers manages to reach the RADIO in the car and call for back up. They return fire BANG and hit one in the shoulder and another in the leg before a cop car BLOWS KABOOM. MR. GRADO (cont’d) This neighborhood belongs to me now piggies. You aren’t welcome here. Get out while you still can. Two MEN exit a FRENCH RESTAURANT nearby, the name LE VALCON BONNE NOURRITURE embroidered in fancy lettering above the door. They walk forward in all the commotion, the bigger man, MARCO,30’s, stubble topped head gave the gangsters a menicing look. The smaller man had a long pointed nose and, aside from the hat, still wore his chef’s clothes. The gunfire stops as the gangsters watch the two men approach. They scoff at the braison act. One of the officers looks over the hood of the car, he sees the criminals looking off and follows their gaze to see the two men. The small chef starts to flail his arms, yelling French obsenities. He stands before the gangsters with his friend behind him, crossing his arms. CHEF What the hell is this about? You’re scaring my customers, you son’s a bitches. He swears some more in French as some of Mr. Grado’s men laugh. Mr. Grado looks sternly at the two men. MR. GRADO Go back to your escargo little man. This is my neighborhood now. The chef points to the restaurant. 13. CHEF You see that restaurant? I own it. I’m Jean Valcon. And since that is my restaurant, that means this is my neighborhood, it is my duty to protect it from stupid men playing with guns in the street. Mr. Grado’s lip curls in anger, some of his men still snicker but the slightest look over his shoulder stops them. MR. GRADO Am I supposed to be scared of you? The large man behind Jean points a thumb to an alleyway off screen. Mr. Grado and his men look down there. DOWN ALLEY WHERE FOURTEEN HEAVILY ARMED MEN ARE HALF HIDDEN The police target the gangsters as well. OFFICER You can walk away now or come with us. Your choice. Mr. Grado’s face turns red with rage but he motions to his men to stand down and back away. The chef and his friend walk over to Mr. Grado and the chef slaps him. JEAN You are not welcome here sir. Your unruly behavior will not be tolerated. Mr. Grado glares at the little man. JEAN (cont’d) What kind of way is this to do business? Mr. Grado looks at the bigger man and begins to open his mouth. Jean slaps him again. JEAN (cont’d) I’m in charge here, you want to talk you talk to me. Now get out of my sight before we have to do something unpleasant. WOODEN MAZE - NIGHT In a room that looks set up for military training, Zackiria is directing his arms around as he explains the set up to his trainees and SIX other officers including Nick and Ryan. ZACKIRIA A friend of mine was kind enough to allow us to use this place for our training. There are security cameras and some of the floorboards are rigged to make noise. The object is to get to the end without being seen or heard. Now a sniper or any other threat might not have security cameras or booby traps but you never know, bombers probably will. If you officers are attacking a mofia compound are, they’ll likely have look outs. The point is to familiarize yourself with the environment before rushing in. I’ll be watching your progress in the control room. Nick grumbled as soon as Zackiria left. JACOB, early 40’s, dark skin, facial hair, slaps him on the back. JACOB Take it easy, I know you didn’t want to be back here with Zack and all but this training is going to be of more use to you guys than to us. I know I have no plans of defusing hostage nagotiations or anything like that. GABRIEL MARCUS, 30’s, near Elvis look-alike hair, steps forward first, he performes a squat and starts down the hall. 15. Moment’s later a light CREEK is heard, followed by a louder CREEK then a THUNK. Gabriel returns holding his chest where a splash of BLUE PAINT is. GABRIEL Might have been nice to know about the actual booby traps. JACOB I thought that was a given. Gabriel shuffles by, the others trying not to laugh. THE NEXT TWO PEOPLE PROCEED DOWN THE MAZE WITH SIMILAR RESULTS INT. SOMEWHERE IN THE MAZE - NIGHT Kevin looks around a corner, seeing no camera’s he proceeds carefully. He puts his foot on a board and hears the light CREEK he steps off and continues down the hall. He turns another corner to the left and sees a deadend, he turns right and a board under him CREEEKS. INT. WOODEN MAZE ENTRENCE - NIGHT Most of the others stand with different COLORS in all shapes and sizes. Jocob, Jessica and one other are the only ones clean. They hear THWIP THWIP THWIP in the maze followed by a YELP. Moment’s later, Kevin returns to the head of the maze with PAINTBALL MARKINGS. Jessica steps forward and looks back at the ones who failed. The worry on her face built before she entered. INT. SOMEWHERE IN THE MAZE - NIGHT Jessica moves down the hall at a fair pace. Not a sound is heard. She carefully takes a corner and continues. 16. INT. WOODEN MAZE ENTRENCE - NIGHT A DOOR opens and Jessica walks out from the end of the maze. Everyone claps for her. JACOB Good work girl. Glad to see I’m not the only one. KEVIN Damn, if I didn’t know better, I’d think you floated down those halls. Jessica turns away, embarrassed, they continue to congratulate her until Zackiria comes down. ZACKIRIA Congratulations to those of you who made it. You all will be practicing this again, but don’t bother memorizing the corse, it changes all the time. Why should I hire you out of all the applicant’s? Danny whipes some sweat from his brow. 17. DANNY Well sir, I’ll be honest, I’m coming off of an addiction and I’m super dedicated to bettering myself. I don’t know if anyone else is going to try as hard as me not to screw up. Kosh sits back, his eyebrows raised. KOSH I admire your honestly. And I like to believe in second chances. But if you are hired, the slightest screw up, as you say, will mean your immediate dismissal. DANNY This job would mean so much to me sir. KOSH Very well. I’m going to give you a chance. You start tomorrow. Danny stands and eagerly shakes Kosh’s hand. DANNY Thank you so much sir. Danny leaves and Kosh looks at his COMPUTER, he types something and hits enter. INT. KEVIN I hear you were damn near the best in your day. Well, I’m the top of the class now. NICK Good for you. KEVIN Come on. Surely you want to find out just as much as I do which one is truly the best. NICK I tried harder cause I wanted out of this place. It’s all yours for all I care. KEVIN Come on. You didn’t get all that training just to back down from a challenge. Nick let’s out a long annoyed sigh and stands, he steps to the ring. NICK Fine. If it’ll shut you up. (Coriographed fight scene) Everyone watches in stunned silence, Zackiria, the only one not shocked with the level of skill. Kevin goes for a sweep which Nick jumps over, Kevin’s other foot comes around and hits Nick CRACK. Zackiria comes over clapping. ZACKIRIA Though I’m sure you could go for another hour, I’m going to stop you right there. The two bow to each other. 20. INT. POLICE STATION - NIGHT Jack steps out of his office into the bullpen where everyone is taking calls and looking at paperwork. JACK Please tell me someone has some lead. JACK believe me, I’ve been asking that myself. OFFICER We haven’t got anything to go on, other than he’d likely be carrying a large briefcase. We’ve had too many angry business men threatening to sue. JACK Alright, people, we’re probably not going to get any huge revilations today, go home and get some sleep. He goes back into his office as everyone else happily turns off thier computers, sort out thier clutter and leave. INT. LYBRARY - DAY The trainees all of BOOKS ON SNIPERS in front of them, most don’t seem to be enjoying the read. JACOB Zackiria does realize that reading isn’t the same as doing right? GABRIEL This’ll still help us get inside the guys head ok. JACOB I can’t believe no one at the department already has sniper training. 21. RYAN I have a little and there are others, I’m sure there out looking for this guy and this is just one of many books we’ll be reading. JESSICA I hope they’re not all as detailed and graphic. TETSU We’re supposed to do bomb and trap detection next. That should be fun. RYAN We also already have a bomb squad. GABRIEL Quit complaining, will you? They all continue to read in silence. Down one of the isles Jessica looks at the SHELVES and pulls out a BEST SELLING NOVEL. She looks at the cover for a second and opens it. Tetsu comes into the isle and Jessica hides the book as if guilty of something. TETSU It’s alright. I’m pretty sure we’re aloud to have a life outside training. JESSICA You sure about that? Tetsu smiles and laughs acwardly. TETSU Not what you were expecting, was it? JESSICA Do you see what we’re doing here? We have no business in this kind of thing. Sure, I want to better myself but are you kidding me? They both move around acwardly, Tetsu looks at the book Jessica pulled but says nothing. 22. TETSU In a way, it’s better than what I was hoping to get. The idea at least. The execution? Maybe not. Like you say we have no business in the line of fire. JESSICA I see your point though. This does have a few benefits to it. TETSU As long as we don’t actually get involved in police situations it’s fine. But I’m not risking mine or anyone else’s safety. Zackiria calls in the other students and places large weights on the machine. 23. Tetsu’s eyes go wide with suprise, he avoids eye contact with the others as he says something to himself. ZACKIRIA I know you made it but I’d like one of the girls to give the first try. Jessica. Jessica takes a step back, looking at Zackiria like he has two heads. JESSICA I can’t handle that. ZACKIRIA Alright guy’s, the princess is going to sit out on this one. The rest of you get to it while I make some tea. Jessica looks at him angrily and sits in the machine. Tetsu again says something to himself. INT. SMALL ROOM - NIGHT Jacob and Zackiria stand in the dark room, Jacob is breathing heavily and pacing. ZACKIRIA Easy now. Calm yourself down. JACK (cont’d) ...Shot came from over there. But this guy is smart, cleans up after himself. 26. CHUCK I know it’s not my area of expertise but I’d wager a guess it’s the same callaber bullet. Jack looks at the ground where the body once lay. INT. PRESS INTERVIEW ROOM - DAY Mayor Booby D is once again being attacked by the press. It takes time whether we like it or not. BOBBY I know. I just hope you have your best men on it. Bobby eventually hangs up the phone and goes over to his BOOKCASE, opens a SECRET COMPARTMENT and takes out a FLASK. 28. INT. RISING STAR, TRAINING SQUARE - DAY Joseph walks in to see a few of the regular trainees hanging upside-down from BARS pulling themselves up. JOSEPH Zack?! Zackiria comes out of his office, the trainees barley slow down. The two men move around while they talk. JOSEPH (cont’d) Why do you have these people doing this? ZACKIRIA They need to continue their regular training. Don’t worry, your officers and a few others are learning how to spot suspicious people or packages. JOSEPH I don’t suppose any of these guys have gotten some kind of enlightenment on our sniper. ZACKIRIA No. You do remember I’m just training them right?Don’t you have your own men on him? JOSEPH Of course I do, we had people go to every amunition store and even a few black market places we aren’t supposed to know about. No one is taking and we can’t push any harder. ZACKIRIA I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about public relations and all that. JOSEPH How far have they gone it their training? ZACKIRIA I assure you, in the future, when another maniac with a gun, ax, bomb or hell, if ninjas where to pop out (MORE) 29. ZACKIRIA (cont’d) of nowhere, these people would be able to handle the situation quickly and efficiently. JOSEPH That’s good to hear then. Zackiria leads Joseph into... INT. LOUNGE AREA - DAY ...Where Joseph’s officers, Jessica, Jacob and Kevin are watching videos of terrorists and anarchists caught in the act to learn the signs to look for. Nick looks over his shoulder at Joseph and Zackiria. NICK I’m pretty sure the CIA and FBI already have people trained in this. Why aren’t they doing something? The argument doesn’t do any good even though all the ones being trained felt the same. Only Ryan seems to appreciate this extra bit of leasons. Joseph’s PHONE RINGS, he answers and waits as the person on the other end talks. JOSEPH That’s great Jack, I’m on my way... Joseph hangs up and gives an odd smile to Zackiria. JOSEPH (cont’d) ...Spector is hitting another bank, they’re still there. Sounds like a good opportunity to see if these guys know what they’re doing. The Rising Star trainees look worried as the officers look at them like this is the worst idea ever. The RS trainees are much slower to stand as they all exit. 30. EXT. STREET IN FRONT OF BANK - DAY The street is blocked off in front of the bank by several POLICE VEHICLES, Jack tries to reason with the bank robbers on a MEGAPHONE. The officers already there snicker and make jokes as Joseph, Zackiria and the terror response trainees make their way to Jack. JACK I don’t know what you think these guys are doing here but we got a negotiator five minutes out. We have word someone was shot in there already so we don’t need it to escalate any more. JOSEPH These men can handle it. Joseph looks to Zackiria who seems only half sure about that. JACK This isn’t a training exercise. Actual lives are at stake in there. JOSEPH Nick, Ryan. And you. Kevin, is it? KEVIN Y-yeah. JOSEPH Very good. You three go find a way in the back... JACK Sir, he’s still a civilian, I don’t care what kind of training he has. JOSEPH (Over Jack and derected at the other three officers in training) You three cause a distraction at the front. (To Jack) Have some faith, will you. RYAN With all due respect sir, there is only four of them, I can take them down myself. 31. JOSEPH We don’t want them taken down. We want everyone to come out of that bank alive, if possible. All the men start to get into position, Kevin stands flustered as if unsure where to go before following Ryan and Nick. EXT. JUST OUTSIDE BANK WINDOW - DAY Kevin is crouched by the wall, his hands on his head, he rocks back and forth trying not to throw up. KEVIN (WHISPER) There’s so many ways this can go wrong. GOLDFINGER What was that? Those cops are up to something. ODDJOB Don’t worry Goldfinger, they wouldn’t do anything with all these innocent lives on the line. DR. NO Why’d you have to shoot that guy Aldo? ODDJOB Hey, no real names. And he hit the alarm, you saw him. GOLDFINGER I say we just turn ourselves in now, we had a good run. 32. BLOWFELD No one’s going anywhere, we can still find a way out of this. DR. NO Look around. You think the cops are just going to let us get away? Blowfeld looks at the bags of money and then to the BANK MANAGER, 50’s, boring looking. BLOWFELD Is there another way out? There’s a basement garage right? Ryan looks over the counter, only his eyes shown, he can see the SHADOWS of the other officers going to the front door. The officers bust in the door BAM. Spector jumps and turns. GOLDFINGER Fucking cops! What’s the matter with you? Goldfinger and Oddjob both grab hostages and draw their GUNS, they open fire on the police. BACK ON RYAN Ryan looks at Nick. RYAN Those guys weren’t supposed to breach. The cops quickly return fire BANG, Oddjob and his hostage are hit and go down THUD. Dr. No grabs a BAG and the bank manager, using him as a shield. DR. NO Let’s go Blowfeld! Dr. No and the manager head to the back, past Kevin who does nothing to stop him. Goldfinger reaches for a bag and gets SHOT IN THE HAND BANG. GOLDFINGER Gaaah! (One or two more hostages are shot in cross fire during the confusion) 33. Blowfeld keeps as low as he can as he makes his way behind a PILLAR, he grabs a BAG and fires at the cops BANG BANG. Ryan jumps the counter, Nick coming another way. In quick secession, Ryan chops Blowfeld in the back of his neck SLAP, he goes out. Nick charges Goldfinger who drops his gun CLINK to cover his wound. Nick grabs Goldfinger and throws him into the wall CRACK and knees him in the face CRACK. Goldfinger drops THUMP, the other officers move in and start cuffing the criminals. Nick and Ryan look over the hostages, some injured and THREE dead. They argue with the officers. One of the officers unmask Oddjob who had also been killed to reveal an ASIAN MAN, they unmask the other two WHITE MALES. Kevin slumps in as if he took a few hits to the gut, his face sagging with guilt. Nick looks at him in anger then looks to the ground. INT. JEAN You really should have cleaned yourself off before entering my kitchen. Marco remains silent for the longest time as he finishes up and turns the tap off, he takes a TOWEL and dries off. JEAN (cont’d) How many does that make it? MARCO Five of this Mr. Grado’s men. JEAN But not Mr. Grado himself. MARCO No. He’s well guarded. Jean thinks for a bit, the kitchen work continues. JEAN You know if that guy just came in nicely, like a normal human being, instead of all the gunfire and crazyness, I would do business with him, but no, he’s got to be stupid about it and announce his intentions to take over. What do you think? Marco looks as if he still wants to thrattle someone for a beat. Before Marco can speak his objections. JEAN (cont’d) Make the call, set up a meeting. 35. Jean goes over to the SOUP POT and takes a taste, he seems to be pleased but adds some OREGANO. INT. He didn’t make it, you know. Albert gives Jack a somewhat dirty but more sympathetic look. JACK (cont’d) Or was it Jim, the one called Blowfeld? Albert just shifts in his seat more. JACK (cont’d) You’ll both do time. You could do less though. Why the big jump? For the thrill? There are better things to do for exitment. Albert looks at the table. JACK (cont’d) What about your buddy? Dr. No. I’m guessing that’s David Milton. Albert looks at Jack. JACK (cont’d) He’s still out there with your money. You think he’s coming back for you? Albert looks at the table again, blinks. He thinks for a beat and looks back at Jack. ALBERT I’m no rat. Jack leans back, putting a hand to his face and groaning. You will never send any one of us to take on some big time criminal again. You want us to fight gang members, muggers and rapists, I am down with that, but we will not go out of our league again, you hear me? Zackiria leans back in his chair and looks at Kevin, expressionless. He taps his fingers on the desk. ZACKIRIA You do realize I didn’t ask you to physically go after the sniper, you did that on your own. KEVIN You didn’t stop Joseph from sending us into that bank. ZACKIRIA Your right. I’m sorry. 49. KEVIN Good. ZACKIRIA Very well, you will stay away from the big guns until you are capable to handle them. The last thing I want it one of you guys getting killed. Kevin stands and nods in some kind of appritiation and starts to leave. ZACKIRIA (cont’d) I hope you know. I’m still going to push you all. There is still a lot of evil out there. And you need to be ready for what’s to come. Because the time will come where you’ll have to fight seemingly immposible odds, and your not going to get the chance to just walk away from it. Kevin stands there not fully understanding what Zackiria means and finally leaves. Zackiria rocks back in his seat and turns back to the swords, he then looks at the ODD SKULL SCULPTURE by the door for a beat and stands. He leans on his desk with a weary expression. FADE OUT
