The Better Part
Wish that you could see
The better part of me
I guess I hide it oh to well
Behind this fortress shell
Cannot let anyone see inside
It just makes me to petrified
A heart broken to many times
Can't be read between shattered lines
So much love to give to you
But I am just to afraid to
I am afraid that you cannot see
The better part of me

An excellent, expressive poem, Roger. It takes a lot of trust, makes us so vulnerable, to let someone know we care.....and then they are unaware of the depth of our feelings. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but I truly understood what you meant.
