A poem about hope. Why do we let others define us? Who is anybody to tell any single one of us what we can be? We are mountains, we control our lives.

Ascension

This is my empire,
My place to return to,
Burn out not your fire,
These days, there are so few,

Ideas come and ideas go,
What remains if not an ember?
These are the seeds we sew,
You are not your faults, remember,

Demons come in all forms,
They stifle, hinder what makes you,
Fear not, weather the storm,
Do not allow them to break you,

Light defeats dark, find your torch,
Disallow the thought, you are a mountain,
Craft your weapon, ignite your forge,
Taste the eternal fountain, stop doubting,

We are strong, we are armed,
Who are they to question us?
We decide if we're to be harmed,
Do it! Surrender the pretentious,

Fate is not to be fated,
Who are you, don't be baited,
You, here, deserve a mention,
You're in control, become your ascension.
