It’s one of those nights again

where I’m getting suffocated by my own heart

which ironically is beating too fast

not knowing when to slow down

The beat echoing in my ears

Getting louder by the second

making me wish I was deaf

that there was a way I could ignore it

In vain, I’m sticking my fingers in my ear

hoping it will keep the sounds out

A childish behaviour

for someone who never got to be one
