Only One

I’m gathering my wishes, and collecting my desires,

putting them inside a pot above this roaring fire.

Add a dash of magic, and sparkles with a glimmer,

cook it up together ‘til the color, it gets dimmer.

Not too cool, still pliable, I’ll set about my art,

taking silk from spider’s webs, a so integral part;

there’s not much here to work with, nothing left to spare,

I’m going to be creating with the utmost of care.

And here it is, it’s finished – one tiny little key,

the only one to open up the heart that’s part of me.

It would be so fragile, but the silk it makes it strong,

there’s only one place I can think of where it does belong.

I’ll find a tiny little box, and pack it up with care;

I’ll stick on a tiny label and the wind will take it there.

It is a one and only model, a copy can’t be made,

if you want to keep it, put the box into the shade.

 If it’s cared and cherished for, to rust it will do never

and this tiny little key with you – it could just last forever.
