What you call Love

Is this what you call "Love"?

Is this what you call "love"?

The alleged "love" you feel for me?

This isn't love.

And if it is

I've been wrong all along.

My "love" is to wish to hold you forever.

To protect you from the fire of madness and evil.

My "love" is to love you for a lifetime.

My "love" is to give you the world

at least my world.

But your "love" is to hurt me.

Your "love" is to destroy.

Your "love" isn't "LOVE".

Oh Adam, how heartbreaking. This struck a chord in my heart, I know exactly how this feels. Beautiful.

'Love' seems to mean so many things to so many people, Adam, but hurting can never be a part of it. Excellently composed poem.!

Well written. Brutal to read. When a person’s love is a messed up love, that love kills the heart. Especially emotional manupulative so-called love.
