I realized one of my biggest charms is one of my greatest weaknesses.

My inability to explain or devour certain topics because of how uncomfortable they make me feel allows me to completely convey feelings without ever actually stating the real thing.

The ability to describe how you are feeling in any given situation while dancing around the subject at hand…

Some people call it a gift. Others tell me that I need to grow up. I believe it shields me from the strange feeling in my stomach.

The queasy one you get as people delve into a topic you can’t bear to listen to.

And so by the end of the conversation, you’re laughing at my descriptions while I’ve never really talked about what we were talking about in the first place.

Maybe you’ve been in this situation, or maybe you know someone who does this. But it can be quite useful and overall a comedic option for those uncomfortable moments.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used, “Explain it to me like I’m five.” You won’t use certain descriptions when talking to your five-year-old because you aren’t ready to discuss the birds and the bees and the horrors of life.
