Beautiful Popular Girl

I like to sit in class

And stare at you all day

I like to sit in class

And wait for the horrible thought to go away

You’re beautiful and perfect

And I’m not even worth it

You have a gorgeous smile

But I just doubt mine for a while

You’re a beautiful popular girl

Nothing wrong with that

But you make me insecure

And you make me so unsure

You laugh at the dumbest things

But I laugh too

Because it’s contagious, your perfect laugh

Your beautiful dirty blonde hair

Your cute nose

Your gorgeous pearly smile

Your outrageous style

Your uniqueness

Nothing can compare to you

Not me or anyone

You’re a beautiful popular girl

Nothing wrong with that

You make me insecure

And you make me so unsure

You’re just a beautiful popular girl…

A lot of people who have heard or read this poem have not seen the true meaning, they just say “Oh that’s really good!” or “I wish I could write like this!”. Well if you really want to write like this then let all of your true emotion spill onto paper and share with people, so they can see how truly emotional you are. This poem is basically someone (me) talking about being envious about another girl who, in my eyes, is way better than me, meaning she looks better, sounds better, and has a better personality than what I see myself having. It’s me wishing that I looked and seemed better than I do. I had read this to a family member, and before I could explain what the meaning was, they asked if it was about someone looking at me and thinking all of it, which had brought up my thoughts about myself. I still do believe that I’m less than the person that I’m speaking of in the poem. I feel like people could possibly relate to this because we all get jealous sometimes. We all have our own insecurities, and feel insecure at times. We all envy someone, whether it be an athlete, an act(or/ress), authors, musical artists, or maybe even our own peers.
