Look at the petals of this rose,

Bland and lifeless as it shows.

Slowly withering away,

I see the start of its decay.

I cry and feel the deep connection,

I failed to give it its protection.

It’s all my fault; I see it now,

But further harm I won’t allow.

Is it too late to even try?

I can’t let this poor rose die.

It must be healed and set out free,

This rose just means so much to me.

How could I have been so reckless?

A dying flower that lies helpless.

My heart, the rose: are split in two,

It withers now because of you.
