Why?

If anger has a sound, it's a 'bark!'

Sitting here in quiet, then 'hark!

What distressing noise should I hear?

The neighbor dog barking, 'shit-o-dear!'

It's an icy, frozen world out there,

and listening to him bark's more than I can bear

What the hell's the matter with those

people? Once in a while I could deal with, but froze,

he must be, for it's all day long

you hear his sad and suffering song

"Shit!" It makes my blood boil

Red-hot anger does roil and roil

'Let him suffer, as long as he does not

bother us,' Why have a dog, if you haven't got

the time or the humanity? He just wants to be part

of the family, and letting him in would be a start

Poor dog! They are too intelligent to be left on the end of a chain! The owner needs educating. Usianguke

Thanks, Moa--and I agree, but I doubt they'd understand it's wrong!

Dr. Acula

Neglect is a crime.
Report them to the humane society.
I despise these sort of "pet owners".

Thank, Doc, and I'm not sure they leave him out all day, but based on their past history, I'm pretty sure it's the case. When they first got the dog, he would stay outside and bark for hours, and they only let him in when angry neighbors started pounding on their door and reamed them verbally--so I guess now, whenever I hear him bark for an hour, I get upset. Even an hour outside in the cold is animal cruelty, in my book.
