Everything is silent; there isn’t any noise,
And even when it’s quiet I can hear your voice.
Saying that you love me; that you want me back,
All these thoughts about you; decide to just attack.
And so alone at home you invade my mind,
I hear you yelling; about the love I left behind.
I can’t do it without you; my will is wearing thin,
You’re just like a tattoo engraved onto my skin.
I wish that I can call you; without you I can’t live,
But sadly there is nothing left for me to give.
I pray this goes away; this pain that I do feel,
In silence and perhaps; I can begin to heal.

Nicely done, jaylisbeth. These thoughts can be so haunting, like ghosts.
The sound of silence. Nice poem JL !
( i have this thing where a poem that does not refer to a gender, ( " he, him, she her " )..
always seems much more worldy and all encompassing to me... anyone can read it... ( though I know this can't be done all the time and we must say " he is ,."..."she was.." once in a while )
Its refreshing to read ( as a dude )..
So for this reason I feel a deeper connection to the piece, as I can relate , thinking of a girl.
anyhow, Im glad you write, not for me, but for you. Thats why I appreciate your words all the more better.
I have totally been there! This poem spoke to me and I could remember the pain i felt trying to get over someone. It can almost become an addiction where you are constantly thinking about that one person. You captured it very well. Great read!
This is perfectly written. I'm sure it speaks to most of us out there. I know it does for me. The pain of losing someone and still missing them greatly. I loved this poem, thank you for sharing it.
Ah, the sound of silence, when thoughts and memories invade and torment your mind. Loved this JB, great job!
A gift you bring, a thought you share, & I, for one, am glad you share!
Thanks for baring all your soul... Thanks for New Year help with goal...
I can work on making right, all the errors in my sight!
Amazing writing. Full of emotion . Wonderfully done.
Definitely one of your better poems, the more that I read from you the more that I see you improving. I especially like the line about a tattoo being engraved onto your skin. Great work as always!
Ah yes, the haunted memories ghost, know it well, J.B!
I love this poem. The author's style of writing really speaks to me, it's great! I can practically feel the pain and inner agony that the narrator is trying to convey- it's hard to find poems with that ability to really appeal to the reader's senses and emotions. Anyways, keep up the good work, Jaylisbeth!
So intense! I can feel the feeling! It does hurt a lot!
This is like lyrics from the type of music I listen to, and that is mainly doom metal. The music is slow, almost funeral like, and the songs are about death, love, despair, and more dark themes that a person goes through in their lives. I love this type of music, and will introduce you to it if you like. This is one of your most haunting poems because of what I said previously, and it's beautiful in a darker way. This is one of my favourite poems by you, and I love it when you write about themes like this. It's like remembering the happy times, but they always remain distant. Beautiful work Lisbeth.
It's in the times when we're alone with only our thoughts that those pesky thoughts come to us and the pain begins to mount again. Healing takes time. Unfortunately, we never know how much time.
Give it time, my dear. Stay strong. You have your own squad of cheerleaders here on Booksie! :) We're rooting for you!
In silence you rehash the words that have been said Jay. but in silence and in peace you will heal. Usianguke
