Shame!

 

“Mayor, Wilcox,” his assistant, Derby said, “Our city is prospering. We have enough

revenue in the budget, to allot $5,000 toward helping the homeless.”

The crowd cheered as he made the announcement.

“Derby, I need you to make the public aware that I need to fill 300 third-shift positions

by Monday.”

“Sure, boss, what are they for?”

“Don’t worry about it.” The mayor refused to make eye contact with his assistant.

Derby could not contain his curiosity. He arrived at the job site Monday night. He

watched in horror as men, and women in orange vests set up lifelike mannequins, and posed

them on the street corners as homeless people!
