Happy New Year, although I now it'll be tough,

forgetting 2017 will be nothing but rough

Take me back to when intelligence ruled,

Take me back to when we didn't suffer fools

A staggering bull loose in the China shop,

totally on the bottom, but thinks he's on top

The last smart man can't be told what to believe

Who uses his brain and is not told what he sees

Trusts his own vision, not the lies on channel five,

his own thoughts not delusions co-contrived

by a so-called President and his merry band of yes-men,

who tell us it's one way, when it's really the other--sends

you reeling in this new unbelievably surreal world,

truth is yesterday's news, has been trampled and hurled

into the void of nothingness, right along with our dreams

If you think this is bad, it's so much worse than it seems

So, welcome one and all to the year 2018,

if it's anything like '17, it's be a total nightmare scene
