No inspiration left...

Staring at this blank page,

My mind goes on a rampage.

What to write, what to do?

I’m tired of writing about you.

Should I write about my pain?

(I’ve done that before)

I shouldn’t write in vain,

To keep up with more.

I think I’m growing tired,

Of writing what’s required.

Because I’m not inspired,

I think I should retire.

My heart is letting go,

I’m going with the flow.

I’m no longer reminiscing,

In my heart you aren’t missing.

I’ll do this my way; maybe I should,

Quitting my poetry; didn’t think I would.

The queen of Rhymes can't quit ever! Sometimes no inspiration is just the inspiration you need. Nicely done, Lis!

Ha! Thank you very much for that, Adam. I am not feeling my art anymore at the moment.

Don't think of quitting, jaylisbeth, you are way too good at the poetry. And you would miss it. When inspiration is thin try something else -- your short stories are fantastic.
And lets face it, we all have bad days.
A fantastic write, jaylisbeth, making something fantastic from lack of inspiration.

I hope it's a phase, Hully. I feel as though my tank is almost empty. Thank you so much for caring :)

This is some of your most passionate, yet brilliant rhyming that you have ever done. But I am concerned about the topic you write about, and I hope you are not thinking about quitting. I, as a poetic writer, officially started doing poetry today, and I never thought I would ever do that. Today added a new start for me, so please do the same also Lisbeth. I'm not going to let you quit my friend, because I am in too deep with your work, and I can't let you do it. I love your passion that you are not hiding the truth, and it has left you on a cliffhanger. I will find that inspiration for you if I have to, but your heart and passion is strong, and you are meant to be one of the greatest writers I have ever seen. This is a beautiful piece, haunting and harrowing, and the rhyming is some of the best ever. Now watch this poem be only fiction, and there's me giving the last rites speech lol. Don't quit my dear friend!

That is very kind of you to say, Dexter. I hope it's just a phase that I will snap out of. Thank you for caring :)

It's good to hear that you're mending and don't feel the need to write about your Summer Night anymore, but it's sad that you're thinking about giving up writing altogether. You have such talent and I know there's a lot of potential stirring in your heart and in your head waiting to leak onto the page. Don't say you're giving it up, Lisbeth! There's so much more you can write about - of happiness, of the world, of yourself, and of women seeking revenge on the men who have wronged them. :)
A break is good. We all need to take a break at times. You're going through a transition phase in life, so perhaps your art is reflecting that. But you're more than your pain and it's always lovely to read about your happiness and love. Maybe this is a time to try focusing on writing short stories or maybe this is a time when you just need to take a breath and give yourself some time. But please don't say you're done with writing! We'd miss you!
In the end, you need to do what's best for you. Follow your heart. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is the end of the last chapter . . . and the beginning of the next one. Wherever life takes you and whatever course you choose to follow, there'll always be a pen and paper nearby if you need them.
Best of luck in figuring things out! You definitely seem to be on a better path now!

Thank you so much, Jeff. I am growing a bit tired of my poetry. I need to find the time to finish my novel and begin writing others. It's what I am really passionate about. Writing poems is just the hobby side of my writing. I really appreciate the good wishes :)

Please don't quit, JB... its all part of the journey. Inspiration is not a science, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Try something different, venture out of your comfort zone. You write fabulous poems and short stories, you have the talent the creativity, its just a blip, one that we all experience from time to time.Fabulous poem, by the way!
