stay strong everyone

where do you think we'll all be years from now?

will we have gotten what we wanted?

accomplished all our goals?

have you met mr. right?

do you have the two kids you wanted?

or have we stayed the same?

do you remember back then?

the time when i fell down?

and you let out a hearty laugh?

do you remember helping me up?

and do you remember me thanking you?

it was funny when you pushed me down again, don't you think?

that was hilarious, remember me laughing?

weren't you having an amazing time when you were kicking me?

what about when you spat on me?

called me names?

just a joke, right?

you're laughing just thinking about it, aren't you?

'who could've seen this coming?' they'll ask

and you'll have an answer, i'm sure

because it's the least you could do

after you left me with so many questions for myself.

why me?

what is wrong with me?

why am i treated this way?

do i deserve it?

how could i not deserve it?

why am i such a terrible person?

am i worthless?

and as I'm hanging from my neck

the answers seem to spill from my half-open lips.

do you still think this is a joke?
