Status: Finished  |  Genre: True Confessions  |  House: Booksie Classic

Stop what you are doing and listen.
What do you hear in the dead of night?
when its silent and dark.
can you hear the silence?
What does your silence say?
Mines loud.
The silence screams at me.
It screams the truth.
Reminding me.
All the things I want to forget.
It won’t let me leave my childhood behind.
But I keep trying.
Pushing forward.
Picking up those pieces that are broken.
No one else will pick those pieces up but me.
The pieces are sharp.
But they’re my pieces.
My story.
And I don’t care how damaged I am.
If these pieces hadnt have broken…
Then it wouldn't be me standing here right now.
It would be a different me.
And would she be worthy of being me?

An interesting poem. Everything we go through makes us....us. Well-written and clearly expressed.
