Arthur C. Mayer Jr. aka Arthur Mayer Jr. aka Artie Mayer of 200 Beacon Hill Drive, apartment 11H, Dobbs Ferry, New York 10522 and previously of 1 Morningside Avenue, apartment #1R, Yonkers, New York 10703 and before that 5 Metropolitan Oval, Bronx, New York 10462 (November 1976 - June 2004) died Sunday 4 November 2012 at age 69.

Artie was born in the Bronx, New York the son of the late Rosemary Mayer née Murphy and Arthur C. Mayer, Sr.

He attended St. Helena's Grade School 1949-1957, 2050 Benedict Avenue, Bronx, New York 10462, Manhattan Prep 1957-1961 and Manhattan College.

Artie narrowly escaped The LaSallian nightmare of a principal, Brother George Rudolph Berrian, FSC aka Brother George R. Berrian, FSC aka Brother George Berrian, FSC aka Brother George, FSC Ed.D. "The Dome" (1925-2016). Along with Brother Celsus John Brown, FSC aka Brother C. John, FSC aka Brother John, "Bear" (1913-2012) and Sebastian J. Cacaci aka Sebastian Cacaci "Sebbie"/"Sebby" (1920-1968), a trio that formed 'The Bastinado Brotherhood'.

Artie proudly served his country in the US Army where he received a Purple Heart while stationed in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Artie worked for over thirty-five years at Con Edison retiring in 2006.

He enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his sons Sean P. Mayer (1973-) and Capt. Brendan J. Mayer (1976-) and his wife Kian Mayer . Also surviving are his sons' mother Kathleen Mayer née Callaghan (1946-); his brother Peter Mayer and his wife Lynn Mayer and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Joan Armstrong.

Mass was at St. Helena's Church on Thursday at 10:00am.
