Bleeding out but not

of blood;

from me does flood.

Too tired now to keep

on going,

reasons, well,

from me they’re flowing.

Better just to leave me

you’re guiltless,

not to blame, don’t fear.

I’m wanting now to close

my eyes,

stay blinded

to future’s surprise.

Leave me now and let

me sleep,

exhausted now

it’s gone too deep.

Do you know the feeling, almost too tired to breathe, just wanting to give in but you know you can't -- that's what this is about. Thanks for reading.

Yes, I am familiarized with this feeling very well. Excellent write!

I don't know how else to describe it -- it's so much more than tiredness. Thanks for reading, jaylisbeth.

Sleep Hully, recharge your batteries. Such an emotional poem!

Problem is, Sue, it doesn't seem to work! Thanks for reading.

Well Done Hull, some of us prefer to stay blind, if you don't really see it, it can't really hurt you...Tom...

I guess that is kind of true, Tom, or at least if it does we won't see it coming. Thanks for reading.

Dr. Acula

I could feel the breathlessness in this piece, like words being panted out, a few at a time, never giving up, however, the heart, mind, body and soul can only take so much, ...before...
Also, exsanguination is a killer word !

Yeah, it is, isn't it. Another one of my favorites to go with discombobulated!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment, Doc.

Jeff Bezaire

Real friends never leave someone behind. They're there to listen and to help; to haul you up when you need it and encourage you to keep going! Some things must be faced alone, but that doesn't mean you can't have a cheering squad ready behind you. If only friends had a charger they could plug you into to get you back to one-hundred percent! A handy-dandy device that needs to be invented this century!

Exactly! I'd love some kind of charging station because sometimes sleep just doesn't seem to work. Thanks for that comment, Jeff, it means a lot.
