George P. Moore J.D., 92, of 459 Passaic Avenue, apartment 268, West Caldwell, New Jersey 07006, formerly of 4 Fox Chase Road, Madison, New Jersey 07940, passed away peacefully on 21 November 2015, at HackensackUMC Mountainside aka Mountainside Hospital, 1 Bay Avenue, Glen Ridge, New Jersey 07028.

George Moore was born 1 October 1923 in New York City to the late William Moore and Johanna Moore née Buckley.

He graduated from Manhattan Prep High School in 1941.

He was lucky to have missed by a quarter of a century the LaSallian nightmare of a principal, Brother George Rudolph Berrian, FSC aka Brother George R. Berrian, FSC aka Brother George Berrian, FSC aka Brother George, FSC Ed.D. "The Dome" (1925-2016). Along with Brother Celsus John Brown, FSC aka Brother C. John, FSC aka Brother John, "Bear" (1913-2012) and Sebastian J. Cacaci aka Sebastian Cacaci "Sebbie"/"Sebby" (1920-1968), a trio that formed 'The Bastinado Brotherhood'. George was indeed lucky.

He served in the United States Army Air Corps for 33 months including active duty with the 15th Air Force in North Africa and Italy in WW2 from 1943 to 1945, earning an Honorable Discharge at the rank of Corporal in November 1945.

George earned a BS in Business Administration from Manhattan College, Bronx, NY in 1948. In 1952 he earned a JD Law degree from New York School of Law, New York City, NY. His career started in the securities industry in New York City and included 30 years at Prudential Life Insurance Company of America, as an investment portfolio manager, retiring in 1986 as Vice President-Common Stocks. He was a long time member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at his home of 50 years in Madison, NJ, a place of many memorable family gatherings. He was a long time communicant of St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, New Jersey 07940.

George Moore is survived by his beloved wife Marie Moore née Lara, 65 years married. He is also survived by his five children: Ann M. Moore, and husband James Aylward, of Little Falls, New Jersey, Peter G. Moore and wife Mary D. Moore, of Falmouth, Maine, Robert F. Moore and wife Christina Tur, 30-44 29th Street, Astoria, New York 11102, Susan Loebs née Moore and husband David Loebs, of Denver, North Carolina, and Louise Maxwell née Moore and husband Stuart Maxwell, of Seattle, Washington.

He is survived by seven wonderful grandchildren: Lara, James, Christian, Leigh Ann, Jessica, David and Andrew, and by 3 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and several cousins in Ireland, as well as his two brothers-in-law Frank Lara and wife Judy Lara of Nampa, Idaho, and E. Ronald Lara and wife Patrice Lara, of Breckenridge, Colorado. He is survived by his sister, Regina Boyle née Moore of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his brother, William J. Moore, and sister Mary Carpenter née Moore.

A wake was held Friday 11 December 2015 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, New Jersey 07940.

Funeral services were Saturday 12 December 2015 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, New Jersey 07940.
