Helen Ruth Wurthmann née Shine aka Helen R. Wurthmann aka Helen Wurthmann of 36 Lincord Drive, Saint Louis, Missouri 63128-1209 (Sappington CDP) suffered a stroke at her home 14 February 2017 and passed away 18 February 2017 at St. Anthony's Medical Center, 10010 Kennerly Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63128.

Helen was a devout Catholic with a particular devotion to the Blessed Mother:

"O Virgin most tender,

Our homage we render,

Thy love and protection,

Sweet Mother, to win;

In danger defend us,

In sorrow befriend us,

And shield our hearts

From contagion and sin."

She was a mainstay at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Church.

She was born probably in Sloane Maternity Hospital (447 West 59th Street, New York, New York 10019; founded 1886; name changed 1910 to Sloane Hospital for Women; moved to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital 1928). She spent her earliest years at 151 West 102nd Street, New York, New York 10025 in East Harlem (torn down) before the big move uptown to 247 Audubon Avenue, apartment 23, New York New York 10033-7306.

In Washington Heights she went to services at Church of the Incarnation, 1290 St. Nicholas Avenue, New York, NY 10033 and graduated from Incarnation School, 570 West 175th Street, New York, New York 10033.

Helen was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School (560 Lexington Avenue, New York, New York 10022 demolished).

Prior to her marriage in 1948, Helen attended---like her three sisters---Grace Institute, 149 West 60th Street, New York, New York 10023, at its original location in the "old Moore Mansion".
