Now that I wrote the prologue to The Dargon arc, I am jumping in to the first part of the story. I wish to thank all who have been reading so far and hope the future stories don't disappoint. I
also wanted to say that if any of you can draw and wish to make fan art of the characters or story, you have my blessing. All I ask in return is that you share it with me so I can see them. Thank
you and enjoy.

FADE IN:

EXT. POE CITY, BAR – NIGHT

A man walks out, waving his friends goodbye. He casually walks away to his destination.

Another suspicious figure gets out and follows him, keeping a few distances away from him.

UNDERCOVER COP

I’ve got him on my sight.

CHIEF (V.O.)

Good. Don’t lose him, and try not to run into trouble.

If you do, holler for backup.

UNDERCOVER COP

Got it.

On the rooftops, Sicarius is as alert as an eagle.

The man heads down an alley.

SICARIUS (V.O.)

Keep going straight, alleyway is just a shortcut. Keep your eyes on the right.

The UC takes the instructions and heads forward, and when he reaches to the end, he spots the man amongst the crowd.

SICARIUS (V.O.)

Car.

He is too attentive to the point that he almost gets run over. He apologizes as the cab driver shouts obscenities at him.

SICARIUS (V.O.)

Careful, traffic.

The mystery man reaches to the docks, and feeling himself free, runs to a specific warehouse. The UD picks up after him as he sneaks his way through.

He takes cover behind a crate as there is a knock on the door. Some indistinctive conversation takes place, and the door is shut.

UNDERCOVER COP

They’re in.

CUT TO:

INT. VAN – NIGHT

The Chief contacts Sicarius as he gets the call.

CHIEF

Ready when you are.

SICARIUS (V.O.)

Five minutes.

Cut to:

Sicarius on the warehouse’s rooftop, gently opening a window and sneakily dropping in.

CHIEF

All units, prepare yourselves.

All his men lock and load, burst out of their cars and approaching the warehouse, surround it. Among the allies present is Detective Deckard.

They stand in silence for a few minutes. The Chief counts to himself.

CHIEF

3…2…

The door opens, they all burst in, and freeze in their tracks.

Sicarius stands ahead of them, frozen.

The bodies of their intended targets lay splattered all over, having been gut by some strong hands.

Deckard, attempting to recover from the shock, looks up at the wall.

There, plastered in blood, the painting of the Wawel Dragon.

CUT TO:

INT. CLOTHING STORE – NIGHT

The employee behind the counter finds himself bewildered and even anxious as he watches the strange sight of his guests, including Charlie, Diego, and Asenath. Diego seems impatient, having been forced to carry several stuff.

ASENATH

(picking some clothes)

Charlie, how do these look on me?

CHARLIE

I’m not good at that kind of stuff.

DIEGO

Can we leave already?!

ASENATH

(sighs)

Diego, Diego, have you ever heard of formality? We have a meeting today and we needed to patch up.

Alright, let’s get going.

Charlie and Diego move past the clerk without paying attention to him. The alarm rings, yet they are casual about it.

CLERK

Uh, sir, you need to pay for that.

ASENATH

(showing her empty pockets)

But we got no money.

CLERK

Ma’am, please put your belongings back.

ASENATH

Oh, come on! Have the New Year Spirit, will ya?

CLERK

I’m sorry, Ma’am, but I can’t.

ASENATH

That’s alright. I’m a charitable type.

(holds out the Necronomicon)

Which way would you like to go?

CLERK

Excuse me?

ASENATH

A swarm of rats? Bizarre colors – oh wait, already did that – ah, your brain in a jar? I heard it’s quite trippy!

CLERK

What are you talking about?

DIEGO

(grabs him by the collar)

Do you have a mother, boy?

CLERK

(sweating)

Y-yes.

DIEGO

Let this one pass, and go see her tonight. For your own sake.

ASENATH

He’s a smart boy, Diego. Trust me. You are a smart boy, right?

Terrified, the clerk lowers himself, his hand grabbing a gun hidden underneath the desk.

He whips it out and points it at them.

CLERK

Freeze!

Charlie sighs and rubs his eyes. Asenath grins from ear to ear.

ASENATH

Oh, boy?

The window’s open.

He looks sideways, and screams as an amphibian Dagon worshipper leaps at him and starts gnawing at him.

ASENATH

(leaving the store)

Told you he was smart.

CUT TO:

Them driving off with the chosen pack in the van. Aside from Asenath (leader), Diego (lancer), and Charlie (brains), there is Edgar (negotiator) and Wajda (assassin).

ASENATH

By the way, anyone got a name for our group?

EDGAR

I used to manage a band called The Slashers, a pseudo-punk rock band, if you’ve heard of them.

WAJDA

Can’t say I have. The name stinks, by the way.

EDGAR

Which is why they disbanded three months later.

WAJDA

Funny, isn’t it?

EDGAR

What is?

WAJDA

Manager of bands, without a care in the world. Now, a loon on the run.

EDGAR

(confidentially smiles)

I’ll take that as a compliment, Mr. Wajda.

WAJDA

Do you really have a choice in the matter?

EDGAR

Yes.

Wajda whistles in mockery.

EDGAR

How’s your daughter?

Wajda abruptly halts the van.

WAJDA

What did you say?

Edgar’s smile carries a tone of mockery. Diego comes between them.

DIEGO

Enough! We have work to do.

ASENATH

Yes, yes, but what are we going to call ourselves?

CHARLIE

Is it really necessary?

ASENATH

Any ideas, Charlie boy?

CHARLIE

No, and I don’t care.

ASENATH

(plays with his hair)

Come on, Charlie-pie, we’ve got to have a name. Something with a ring to it, know what I mean? Something fun, something accessible, draw the crowd in, know what I mean?

CHARLIE

(sighs)

I’ll see what I can do.

ASENATH

Thank you!

She pulls out a gun and aims at Wajda’s head.

WAJDA

What are you…?!

ASENATH

(threateningly)

Step on it. We’re late.

Anxious, he drives on. Cut to:

INT. CONRAD’S MANSION, OFFICE – NIGHT

The fireplace is on as there is a conversation going on between the well attired group and Bernard Conrad. The same egocentric smile is plastered on his face, and he oozes confidence.

EDGAR

I take it that the test at that island went well?

CONRAD

Oh, it went beautifully. They must have thought that thing would bring them tourists. Fools got more than what they bargained for.

EDGAR

I trust the procedure is going on your behalf?

CONRAD

(combs a fraction of his hair with his hand)

Oh, trust me, I’ve never felt better.

However, there was one problem with your experiment.

Even Asenath stops fiddling about and pays close attention.

CONRAD (cont.)

Apparently, your actions brought some unwarranted attention. Someone got there before the news people chimed in, took the chip and shot one of the denizens. I had my people pick it up and examine it, but we couldn’t find anything.

EDGAR

Your implication?

CONRAD

I have the best forensics working on it, and they can’t crack it. It got me thinking; you think anybody would be well versed in the art of magic?

EDGAR

It’s possible.

DIEGO

(interrupting)

Not just possible. It’s true. One of our enemies was a young woman who didn’t seem to have supernatural abilities, but she knew several chants and a good swordsman, as well.

Perhaps she was responsible?

CONRAD

If that is the case, I want her gone. Any name or physical distinctions?

DIEGO

She had cybernetic eyes implanted.

CONRAD

That’s not enough. Plenty of people have those.

DIEGO

She’s supposedly Japanese.

CONRAD

I’ll send you the information once I come up with something sufficient.

EDGAR

And what will we have I return?

CONRAD

What do you need access to?

They all turn to Asenath, who is cheekily grinning.

ASENATH

Oh, just access to all forms of web and electricity available.

CONRAD

Is that so?

ASENATH

(peers her face closer to his)

That so, handsome.

They stare at each other almost in the act of a stand-off, to see who could brush off their smile.

ASENATH

You’ve got something on your mind.

CONRAD

I’ll give you information on the girl, you kill her for me.

You want access to the city, bring someone for me.

ASENATH

Alive or dead?

CONRAD

Whichever’s easier.

ASENATH

Say “I wish.”

He whispers in her ear, and there is excitement on her face.

ASENATH

Why didn’t you say so?

She opens the book, and writes down something.

Charlie jumps back in fright, as in the corner of the office, a darkened figure stands.

ASENATH

(to the figure)

You’ve got a new job.

CUT TO:

INT. BYRON MANSION, OFFICE – NIGHT

The TV news highlights the strange massacre of the Island as Yoshiko and Johnathon are having a conversation. The chip is in the palm of his hand.

JOHNATHON

What would Conrad benefit from this?

YOSHIKO

You tell me. What’s he like?

JOHNATHON

Our families don’t have the best relationship.

YOSHIKO

Ah, one of those old rivalries.

(prepares to light a cancer stick)

JOHNATHON

Don’t.

She reluctantly puts it away.

YOSHIKO

Any specific cause as to why you guys hate each other?

JOHNATHON

No.

YOSHIKO

Are you sure?

JOHNATHON

Yes. Why?

YOSHIKO

Well, no offense, but you are you.

He doesn’t respond. She chuckles.

YOSHIKO

That was a joke.

JOHNATHON

I know.

YOSHIKO

Sure you do.

Well, you seem tired, so I’m gonna leave you.

JOHNATHON

Yoshiko.

YOSHIKO

Hm?

JOHNATHON

Don’t you want to stay?

YOSHIKO

(chuckles)

Byron, it’s an inheritance, not a privilege.

(pats him on the shoulder)

Take care.

She leaves.

JOHNATHON

You too.

As she leaves, she passes by Victoria, who looks at her crossly. Victoria quickly heads to the office.

VICTORIA

What was she doing here?

JOHNATHON

Just asking for help solving a case.

VICTORIA

I don’t want her here again.

Their dialogue is intercut with Yoshiko walking down the street. As he inhales and exhales, she spots a figure leaping on nearby rooftops and alarmed, she chases after it on foot.

JOHNATHON (V.O.)

Excuse me?

VICTORIA (V.O.)

You heard me.

JOHNATHON (V.O.)

Victoria…

VICTORIA (V.O.)

No, Johnathon! It’s not going to happen again!

JOHNATHON (V.O.)

She’s a friend.

VCTORIA (V.O.)

She’s the reason you left in the first place!

CUT TO:

INT. BYRON MANSION, OFFICE - NIGHT

JOHNATHON

You know that’s not true.

VICTORIA

I know what I saw, and that’s enough for me!

Before he can reply, they both look at the window as there is a violent crash.

A creature with the body of a man and the head of a dragon bursts in.

The End
