This is a short poem written about some of my experiences with trouble sleeping and mental health.

In the night, my dreams do not come.

Since this is the case, where am I really?

My body may lie in my bed, but at night I wonder,

where does my unsleeping, undying soul choose to linger

during my hours of slumber.

I often wake, unable to get one night's worth of

undisturbed, peaceful sleep.

I awake to find myself feeling unsure.

For what trouble does my soul face during my hours of rest,

so that it feels it must retreat away, further away,

from the Land of Dreams.
