The entire world open to him

His decision would be on a whim

Because he had no idea what he wanted to do

He was only trying to get through

A million options splayed on the table

He really never quite fit a label

A little of this, a little of that

But every one of them seemed kind of flat

He spun the world on his fingertip

But he never quite knew why

His choice was a sinking ship

And he knew he was running out of time

Every choice seemed too hasty

He feared the future was at hand

Forced to jump into a closing abyss

Just simply hoping he’d land

He could be famous and rich

Or maybe he’d end up in shame

He wanted to find his niche

But for that he needed an aim

Terrified he’d choose the wrong one

The man simply froze

He really wanted to be someone

But soon he’d end up in life’s throes
