My disappointment I have masked,

Are these the things that I have asked?

Everything is falling apart,

Losing my job is just the start.

I now await my slow decline,

While having nothing to call mine.

I sit here very still at home,

Not even knowing where to roam.

Looking out the windowpane,

Asking questions I can’t explain.

What will happen, I don’t know,

How did I just fall this low?

I am scared, I know that much,

I am sensitive to touch.

Have I learned nothing of the past?

Good things never seem to last.

I got lost in the mix,

Just a temporary fix.

I thought I was at the top,

I’m going down and I can’t stop.
