In Wool Clothes

A silly exercise in rhyme.

In wool clothes came the manikin man

All itching --- and scratching --- and sad.

I questioned him --- much --- about his attire

He replied --- “In winter it’s not so bad.”

His wife wore a clear-satin jumpsuit

Which I thought was mildly odd.

She winked at me with her monocle eye

Then ask if I was a god.

“I doubt that I am but I never could tell

I wouldn’t know one --- from another.”

She laughed out loud and teasingly said,

“There’s a lake --- let’s try walking on water!”

So we gave it a try and in the wink of an eye

My body began to sink.

But she did just fine --- I guess --- because

She feared her jumpsuit would shrink!

unmasked delusions

Haha, I like it. Odd and great surreal atmosphere. This has a vintage feel to it, in my mind I was sort of imagining that twilight zone episode "after hours" where the mannequins are alive. Good write.

Oh yes, I remember that one. --- Not based on that but I'm happy you were getting visuals. Thanks for the feedback!
