If Walls Could Talk

By: Katie Hinojosa

Tick tock waiting behind white dingy walls to even get a chance to talk while my parents demand justice may be done, I just sit there stunned. I watch my lawyers mouth move but I don’t hear a thing, I’m taken back to what I wish I can call a nightmare, but it's true. Like scenes coming out of a horror film. I flinch, suddenly awakening me. I need some water, I need some help, I need a witness to say something that can help. Go home, sleep, can't even find the urge to eat. Go on my bed think a thought in my head. Write. Write something that means something. Take a breath letting my pen go on meth. Here I go it’s titled “If walls could talk” if walls could talk they would share the words you told me lie after lie I feel like i'm going to die I ask why, no answer or reply. Getting nowhere my breath is not there struggling to breathe but I do believe if walls could talk they would yell out what you did to me April 20th, remember that date? Seem familiar? Don’t hesitate. Trust. It’s broken. Don’t lie anymore it's over. Can’t go over there it just reminds me of what happen. Words. Words written everywhere with such shame and despair. Going into that building I see R-A-P-E smeared all over the stairs, I hear a little girl scream, just like in a horrible dream. But, coming back to reality, pain is what I feel and what you brought on to me 1,2,3 breathe. Don’t be deceived by what you see. Because, you’ll end up like me.. Tick tock if walls could talk.
