Emily's Father

The weeping mourners watched as frail Emily began her eulogy

for her father, in the quaint dark church.

" My father lived to be ninety-nine years old, a remarkable acheivement,

he was a very strong man, so strong he nearly killed my mother

and me on many occasions. He was an extremely selfish man,

his selfishness began when he killed his twin in his mother's

womb, and stole his life force, and so he continued thoughout

his proud arrogent life. He was a tyrant and a bully, he never let

me have a moment to myself. I can still picture his red vindictive

face screaming, as one by one he flushed my dolls down  the

toilet he had soiled. He was a mean man...

The mourner's tears turned to shock, and the priest nervously

fiddled with the rings on his fingers, as Emily continued her

" My mother worked her fingers to the bone in slavery to him, he drove

her to an early death. No pleasure did I have growing up. Many a

dance he stopped me going to, and there was many a young man

he drove away. It's such a relief to stand here at the funeral today

and know the cruel bastard will never hurt me again. May he rot in hell!

Just then outside the church, a storm was born, and a lightning bolt

cracked, and then there was silence, and then there was a creaking

from the coffin. The mourners gasped as its wooden lid slipped slightly

off, and out of the the opening slid a long tube like one from a vaccum

cleaner. It snaked its way towards Emily, and attached itself to her face

frozen in panic, and sucked her out off existence.
