I'm in the kitchen,

knocking up a meal.

It could end up in the bin,

If I don't get the real feel.

It has to go well,

The guests are waiting.

They're hungry, I could tell,

So there'll be no hesitating.

Hell! The soup is too salty,

The sauce is too malty.

The potatoes are hard,

And I have no more lard.

The salad doesn't taste good,

This is awful food.

The wine has no taste,

The food has all gone to waste.
