Ever silent, ever still...
Hold everything in; never speak a word,
Until the blaze burns of my own free will,
And the embers of the raging fire are stirred.
But for now all must be at peace,
Let nothing out; don’t even make a sound.
The spark must not cause all hope to cease,
For all is yet hidden, lying unfound.
Bar the doors to my mouth; guard them with lock and key,
Lest the words spill out and manage my joy to kill.
All shall be cast in shadow, for no one to hear or see.
Ever silent, ever still...
