Incomprehensible how far I fell.

Held captive by no weak cell,

But by one rusty chain.

And forever it remains.

My captor was once weak.

Escape so simple if ever I seek.

Through each fallen grain of sand,

The rust tightens its grip upon my hand.

This warm, illustrious chain is well sought.

I now know something most do not.

Never form a single unforgiving link.

For they're all just a light's flickering blink.

If anyone has a question about any metaphors or anything, just ask. I'll gladly explain. Also, I want to improve so give any and all criticism.
