I have been there myself, trying to push my own box somewhere and found that others were secretly working against me. I hope you get the whole point of this short little story. Many people will say
one thing to your face and then do just the opposite behind your back or when you're not looking.

The young man struggled to push the huge box up the slight incline. It was a big box that carried a lot of his concerns, hopes and so on. The hill wasn't huge but still, he was trying his best to push it up the slight incline to get to the top.

Some of his friends stood by him, cheering him on.

“You can do it” one would say.

“You're a good guy” the other would say.

He heard them, but his focus was on pushing the huge  box up the slight incline. He was making slow progress but he was happy because he was making some progress and he was doing it on his own.

But then the box seemed to get heavier and harder to push. Try as he might he felt it was getting harder and harder to budge it.

He stopped to take a breath and the box moved back towards him on its own.

“What the heck?” he thought to himself. “Why is my box moving backwards on its own and not forward?” he questioned. He went around the box and there were his so called friends pushing the box in the other direction.

“What are you doing?” he questioned them, surprised to find they were working against him.

“Oh nothing” one said as he looked up and realized he had been caught.

“We're trying to help you” the other said, trying to look sweet and innocent.

He just looked at them dumb founded, thinking it was hard enough to push the box by himself without them trying to work against him.

After a bit the two realized he was still watching them so they turned and walked away but were laughing to themselves as they did.

Great story, and I THINK I understood the gist of the story, it was the guys birthday, and he received a GIANT cool present? Err--maybe not!
