THEN

Its three o’clock in the morning,

All lucid thoughts gone from my head.

I’m typing away at the computer,

Nothing but gibberish to be read.

I’m wondering if this is my calling…

I wonder if I should just go to bed.

NOW

A light shines in the back of my mind,

It fertilises a seed on the way.

A wind blows new inspiration,

And the ideas will brook no delay.

My fingers take on a life of their own,

As page after page is exposed.

Sleep is now forgotten,

As my master work is composed.

Writing will be my career now,

It will become the centre of my life.

All doubts are now gone for my future,

As a writer of some note I will strive.
