I suppose the waves still roll in
Down by the waters edge
Perhaps the sea gulls still nest on that rocky ledge
I don't know
I remember the joy in my grandchildren's eyes
As they ate ice cream in those long summer days gone by
Oh, what have I done with my life?
It's been 12 years since she died
I still remember every word she spoke that night
Said I should have seen the on-coming headlights
I saw the fear in her eyes
As I watched the sparkles dim to the night

I said goodbye to my wife on that cold rainy night
And I sought comfort in solitude
I forgot the simple pleasures in life
They say time will heal the heart
I don't know, but it's a start
I want my life back
I want my life back
Give me my life back!
I want to live again!
