Hello everyone Hblovecraft here. This is a speech that I had to write for my Jrotc class. My teacher told me to write it about something that is important to me for everyone to know that they are
not alone. No matter how much it may seem like that I would just like you guys to remember that you are not alone and if you need someone to talk to I am here. A song that I like is "You will be
found" from the musical "Dear Evan Hansen". This is a song I recommend to listen to when reading this speech. I hope you guys like this and until then!

"So Matilda's strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships onto the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone." -Roald Dahl

This quote was said by Roald Dahl in his book "Matilda". To me this quote means that we are never alone. It means that we are not the only ones having these thoughts or that we are the only ones that think the way we do. No one is really alone and I think that this proves it. Think of it like this. Yes we are different. Every single one of us is and it makes us unique. But does that really mean we are different though? Yes we may look and act different. We might have different problems that we go through or different ways we solve each others problems. Some of us have different hobbies or deams of the future and how we want it to turn out. In the end though when it really comes down to it, we really aren't that different. We have our problems and we take them and transform them into something better. We go to each other for help sometimes. Others though? They will try and figure out how to solve their problems on their own or they fear that no one will understand what it is that they are going through. So they keep their problems to themselves instead thinking that they shouldn't bug others with them. Well guess what? No one is alone no matter how much it may seem like it. Just remember that there will always be someone out there who is going through the same thing- whether it be someone you know, or a complete stranger- no one is alone.

Now before we continue this I have a question for you guys. Before I ask you this queston though I want all of you to close your eyes, and for those of you who answer I want you to raise your hand. My question for you guys is how many of you have felt alone- Like you were the only one going through your problems or the things that you go through? Now that I have asked you this I want you to open your eyes and take a look around the room. See the people around you? I bet some of you thought that you guys were by yourselves and that no one was going through the same things you were. All of our problems are different yes and we might deal with them by ourselves. It can make us feel like we are alone at times and that we are invisible. But one thing I know is that for those of us who feel or have felt invisible is that we will eventually be found.

If you ever need help or just someone to talk to all you have to do is speak out because chances are that others are that others are going through the same thing. Sure it might be a little different but that doesn't mean that it is not similar. One problem that I am sure many of us have gone through is getting bullied yes? I'll admit it I have gotten bullied many times and sometimes it still happens to me now. I used to not have anyone to talk about it and I didn't know how to deal with it so I would just take whatever they had to say about me. I always thought that I deserved everything that happened to me whewn I was getting bullied. All the insults, feeling that I was nothing, feeling invisible, and that I didn't matter? Yeah I felt like I deserved all those things that I was feeling and thinking. But you know what? I met some people who are now my friends. They helped me learn how to deal with these things and because of them I stopped feeling that I was invisible. All because they helped me I felt like I was found and I believe that you guys have had the same thing or will have the same thing happen to you in one way or another. Now I don't think that me talking about this has changed anything but I do know that us taking the tine to talk to others or even show them that they aren't alone can make a change. I have a challenge for you guys You don't have to do it but if you choose to that is great! My challenge for you guys is to branch out and get to know someone new. I want you to talk to them, learn their story, and show them that they are not alone! Help them realize that they are not invisible and that they are noticed! Thank you for listening to my speech and have a nice day.
